  1. No I mean the manager wouldn't tell a slugger like Teo or Vladdy to take.
  2. Not if it's a slugger like Teo. It is part of sports psychology.
  3. Part of the reason is that these guys have been playing competitive ball their whole lives. They "believe" they can get a hit. When you're standing in that box it's you against the pitcher and sometimes you have to get your cuts. It doesn't make sense in strictly logical terms but it is part of the player mentality.
  4. He becomes a Vulcan when he steps into the box.
  5. Arden Zwelling looked baked in that last shot:cool:
  6. Gray pitching like it's 2019. You jinxed us.
  7. The Jays should just retire number 1. Merrifield should pick a different number.
  8. If I was a KC fan I'd be pissed.
  9. He'll come cheap at the league minimum but his decline these past two years has been precipitous. Big time pass.

  13. I have noticed a few regular contributors no longer post here. Too bad. It is a loss for the board.
  14. Somewhere there has to be a line drawn…
  15. Code switching is key. It keeps you from living the Deliverance movie in real life.

  17. 67 seasons behind the mic starting in 1950 at only 22 years of age. If you want to know why he was the best, listen to this clip of the Kirk Gibson homerun in game one of the 1988 world series. After he calls the home run off the bat, he doesn't say another word. Just lets the atmosphere of the crowd do the talking. Great instincts as a broadcaster. RIP.
