Looks like they went the Gage route instead. If we continue to give Gage innings he's going to get rekt. I don't see his stuff being mlb ready. Adrian Hernandez is intriguing but he is a small guy that can barely clock 93mph, who throws a great change. We need swing and miss stuff and he ain't it. -

Silver lining: Stripling is gives us a more predictable starts week in and week out. Ryu was like a box of chocolates. I dreaded the thought of Ryu in the playoffs (yes, Charlie would use him in the playoffs). Also, this may prompt Atkins to be more aggressive in the trade acquisition route. -

Also I did some quick and dirty calculations and realized that about 18% of our remaining schedule is against the Orioles! Jays fans rejoice! -
Pulling the ball is not a cure all. In fact it can make a batter much worse. Ostensibly when you pull the ball you are hitting the ball further in front of the plate. This requires starting your swing earlier plus bat speed and less time to assess the incoming pitch. Also you can forget the inside pitch unless you're Vladdy. Being a natural pull hitter (Bautista) is the result of thousands of repetitions coupled with bat speed. These players aren't going to decide to pull the ball more. Some are just not capable.
