    Obviously the Bichette injury required a course change for Atkins and he had to plug a hole, and that right quick. He would have added another impactful bat otherwise. Overall, this team is poised to have a good last third of a season. One of Ryu, Manoah, Kikuchi or Bassitt has to really emerge and separate themselves to own the #3 spot in this rotation. Going into the playoffs with question marks after Gausman and Berrios is not a good place to be. Don't despair of the bats folks. Pitching and defense will lead us to the promised land. Book it.

    You think it’s wise to drop Barger into a lineup down the stretch drive with all the pressure to succeed? I would rather he come up at the beginning of a season after spring training.

    Currently there are 21 teams within 5 games of a wildcard spot. Crazy.

    Releasing information before the trade deadline would indicate good news. If it is really bad, they won’t release that information until after the trade deadline. No need to show your hand unnecessarily.
