I guess JS doesn't subscribe to the concept of traditional middle/long relief. Like everyone is basically limited to an inning or 3-5 batters. Wouldn't using someone like Bowden Francis to come in behind Ryu for multiple innings be the way to go? His stuff would play well following Ryu.
Ryu giving us a competitive five innings every time out is something. This time last year I thought he would never pitch for the Jays (or anyone) again. Glad he's back, especially considering the way our Cy Young candidate turned out this season.
We were all dying inside watching everything unfold and powerless to stop it. A little part of all of us died that day.
