  1. Olerud should stop blaming Cito for his woes. It wasn't Cito's fault that Olerud had a plate in his head with more metal than 1971 Mercury Marquis. Cito made Olerud wear that stupid batting helmet all the time to save his life and Olerud took it like a bitch too.
  2. The Yankees are licking their chops at the thought of Chapman playing third base and giving them .600 ops. for 4/$85M
  3. Boras doesn't let his guys go the QO way.
  4. YES! Be a man. Did everyones balls fall off in this new generation of ANAL-ytics?
  5. I would not be at all surprised to see an Atkins resignation before the New Year. He may step down to some other position in the org and Click to take the reins. Then some time before spring training he will get a job elsewhere and leave quietly. That's how Shapiro does things. It's his way.
  6. This one is so damning..... She is clearly lying.
  7. Manoah is going to squeal like a pig and get Atkins canned.
  8. Fair assessment by David but as usual he lets Atkins/Shapiro off the hook with nary a mention. #RogersShills
  9. Sorry BigC but it's going to take about a week to get it out of my system.
  10. Patently untrue.
  11. No, no Gov. It was a great move and having Kikuchi inherit one base runner and have two eventually come around to score is both logical and an expected outcome. It is damn dear optimal.
  12. Sampson is one of the boys. He won't say a bad word about Shapiro. Moreover he is wrong.
  13. Yeah. His tank is 110 pitches. He was nowhere near that.
  14. Our run differential just got better.
  15. No but the ab's in the 8/9th inning clearly indicate that this team had given up the ghost.
  16. Because he is sitting in the silo and has to push the button to bring on Armageddon! At some point he has to think for himself. I'm sick of hearing that it wasn't JS decision. We all f***in know that. He could have grown a pair and said to his coaches that I know we had a plan but I have to call an audible and change it. That's what leaders do. This is turning into the Crimson Tide movie. John Schneider is the Gene Hackman character and the rest of the Jays fan base is Denzel Washington. Hackman wants to launch nuclear weapons and Denzel is arguing that the situation has changed. Great movie by the way. Fantastic rewatch quality.
  17. I don't want a return to traditional baseball management and I don't think most posters here want that either (except for a few Gibbons fans). What I do want is a skipper who has the self confidence and fortitude to react to what his eyes are telling him and not go into a post game presser and make excuses because he has a low forehead and can't see the forest from the trees. He claims they have been working on base running since February. Well whatever Schneider and his coaches are doing isn't working. John Schneider doesn't have the respect of the casual fan base much less his own players. The look on the faces of the players when that pitching change was made yesterday spoke volumes. Schneider headed out to the mound red faced with embarrassment and called for lefty before taking five steps out of the dugout. Why? Because he knew any conversation with the pitcher and catcher would result in him having no answers. Man up Schneider or f*** off! This isn't AAA. As for Atkins, I have always been a supporter but after yesterday and his last two manager hiring choices I have serious doubts about his ability to make thoughtful personnel decisions about his coaching staff. Atkins isn't the smartest guy in the room but he thinks he is. The Dunning-Kruger effect seems to permeate this organization and it starts with Atkins. So yes, I changed my tune and now believe he has to go as well. For further clarification see my post about the dangers of a bozo explosion because that is what we have here in Toronto.
  18. The explanation makes it worse actually. He said Berrios had electric stuff, the best he has seen from him. The man doesn't trust what his eyes are telling him. His players don't trust him now. Poor leadership.
  19. When Schneider headed out of the dugout, collectively, the Blue Jays fan base knew what was happening and were helpless to stop it.
  20. The comment below I posted on the last day of the season: I now hate John Schneider with the fury of a thousand hot suns.
  21. I posted this about a month ago. Today's game is the output of an organization that takes input from bozos.
  22. Bo only made eight errors all season. Big reduction from the year before. Marked improvement.
  23. So you're saying taking out a pitcher who is pitching the game of his lifetime in a win or go home game, with a 0-0 score, after only 47 pitches thrown with a runner on first base and none outs; and then putting in a starter unfamiliar with the role of reliever (and who struggled down the stretch), who then proceeds to load the bases with none out eventually allowing two runs to score is a good outcome? That was Schneiders plan that worked? That was the plan? "It worked" !!??
