    What I meant is if healthy and you get a great offer you pull the trigger. He's much more appealing in a scenario where you could have him in a playoff run and an additional year. Rather than just a one year rental. Teams that wait usually get burned.

    The only problem with trading Donaldson now is if he's healthy. Some serious doubts that he is. But they have to trade him now unless they go on an unreal July run. Which is unlikely with the quality of opponents. That Astros series is shaping up to look like a nightmare.

    Apparently the Cardinals are interested in Josh Donaldson. Deal would have to start with Carson Kelly, Luke Weaver, and one other premium prospect. It's not an exciting farm system especially with Alex Reyes hurt but I'm sure if he's moved the Jays would prefer the NL.

    They couldn't find someone outside of Boslinger to eat innings? I realize he was s*** in his starts this year. But he's been good since returning to AAA and he's still starting depth that has no options. Doesn't make any sense to me. Also DFA'ing Sparkman after looking like s*** against Boston is questionable at best. They beat up pretty much everyone who pitched.

    Sure it could. If everything goes smoothly. More realistic to look at a long term approach. Nobody said we have to lose 100 games every year. But we do need to trade away anything that isn't going to be around long term. Especially while it has value. I just don't see our front office signing Donaldson to a long term deal after his age 32 season. I think we could move Martin for assets if we ate money but Tulo has zero value with how bad his bat has been and his diminishing range. Tulo's bat is slow unless he's lying about an injury almost no reason to seek much of an improvement.

    I like this move. Unfortunately it's too little too late. But not having a black hole at Catcher allows them too rest Martin comfortably and give him more rest and hopefully that helps him be more effective.
