  1. Orioles would be smart to move them both now. Did a competent intern start running the show in Baltimore or something lol.
  2. No reason to have him here on past July 31st. I will take a lottery ticket for him. But they might exercise his 5.5m option and trade him next year before it jumps up to 8.5 million. I would rather they just deal him now though.
  3. They don't even start Drury lol.
  4. I had the exact same thoughts as soon as I heard that he was released. But apparently he plans to sign with the first team that's in a playoff race that wants to use him.
  5. I'm aware of that. But he will need to be protected from the Rule 5 draft this winter. What's the difference between adding him now and December? The service time he gets will be minimal. I would like to see him a make a handful of starts right now personally. Reward him for his great year and also get a look at him.
  6. He needs to be added to the 40-man in December anyway. 2 months of service time isn't exactly going to prevent us from keeping him longer or even send him into arbitration early. Nothing wrong with seeing what you have. Unless you want to continue to see a parade of s*** ballers for the rest of the season. I personally don't want to see Nick Tepesch. I would like a reason to watch the games down the stretch.
  7. If hes pitches well its possible we could move in August because he will easily clear waivers. Any savings on him would be worth it. But as Laika pointed out we would have to eat probably 90% of his contract including his buyout to even get back a PTBNL at this point. And that's assuming someone will want him.
  8. I would love to see SRF finish the season with the Jays. He needs to be added to the 40-man in the off-season anyway. May as well get him some experience and he will have an opportunity to compete for a rotation spot in Spring already having MLB experience. With that being said they will likely go to Thomas Pannone first who is already on the 40-man or put Jaime Garcia back in the rotation.
  9. Granderson makes a lot of sense for them. I definitely see that happening.
  10. I have never seen someone add up years of control like that. Very odd.
  11. That quote doesn’t really inspire much confidence.
  12. We needed another pitcher who attended an American Military school to replace the one we just DFA'd
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis got more AAA at-bats than he does MLB at-bats next season. Or possibly in another origination. Hes definitely lost second base if not to LGJ probably Biggio before long. Still a chance Bichette ends up moving to Second Base as well. I think he would at least get some starts at Second. Move is a head scratcher for me. I am trying to rationalise it but having a lot of problems doing so.
  14. Pretty much an industry consensus that Cashman stole Happ. I really would have liked to know what the Brewers were offering.
  15. i still think they have an excellent chance to resign him. I think they will outbid the competition when push comes to shove.
  16. If we got one of those guys in addition to what we got for Happ I would have liked this trade. Without an upside pitching prospect it just not doing anything for me.
  17. Great so we don't even have this to look forward to anymore
  18. My disappointment isn't really so much with Drury who will probably be a useful piece for the next couple of years. It's that you couldn't land one intriguing pitching prospect in a pitching rich system with overwhelming depth especially at the lower levels. We need some more high ceiling arms in the organisation. Outside of Sean Reid-Foley we don't even have legit pitching prospects that miss bats even close to the big leagues. I knew a top prospect from the Yankees was out of the question. But not one high ceiling arm is extremely disappointing. Anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.
  19. I just can't fap to this deal at all.
  20. My thoughts exactly lol.
  21. Dammit I thought we were getting Erik Swanson as a second or third piece. Drury I guess will be playing a lot of LF because we currently have no place for him on the infield. Unless this means they are moving Solarte.
  22. lf we don't get a least one of the Yankees decent pitching prospects I will be very disappointed.
  23. Statkins gets ripped by the casuals regardless. f*** the casuals.
  24. Hes Super 2 eligible I believe if he finishes the rest of the year in the Big Leagues.
  25. He had 2 full seasons in Arizona. The results were very meh.
