  1. That quote doesn’t really inspire much confidence.
  2. We needed another pitcher who attended an American Military school to replace the one we just DFA'd
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis got more AAA at-bats than he does MLB at-bats next season. Or possibly in another origination. Hes definitely lost second base if not to LGJ probably Biggio before long. Still a chance Bichette ends up moving to Second Base as well. I think he would at least get some starts at Second. Move is a head scratcher for me. I am trying to rationalise it but having a lot of problems doing so.
  4. Pretty much an industry consensus that Cashman stole Happ. I really would have liked to know what the Brewers were offering.
  5. i still think they have an excellent chance to resign him. I think they will outbid the competition when push comes to shove.
  6. If we got one of those guys in addition to what we got for Happ I would have liked this trade. Without an upside pitching prospect it just not doing anything for me.
  7. Great so we don't even have this to look forward to anymore
  8. My disappointment isn't really so much with Drury who will probably be a useful piece for the next couple of years. It's that you couldn't land one intriguing pitching prospect in a pitching rich system with overwhelming depth especially at the lower levels. We need some more high ceiling arms in the organisation. Outside of Sean Reid-Foley we don't even have legit pitching prospects that miss bats even close to the big leagues. I knew a top prospect from the Yankees was out of the question. But not one high ceiling arm is extremely disappointing. Anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.
  9. I just can't fap to this deal at all.
  10. My thoughts exactly lol.
  11. Dammit I thought we were getting Erik Swanson as a second or third piece. Drury I guess will be playing a lot of LF because we currently have no place for him on the infield. Unless this means they are moving Solarte.
  12. lf we don't get a least one of the Yankees decent pitching prospects I will be very disappointed.
  13. Statkins gets ripped by the casuals regardless. f*** the casuals.
  14. Hes Super 2 eligible I believe if he finishes the rest of the year in the Big Leagues.
  15. He had 2 full seasons in Arizona. The results were very meh.
  16. You just like him because hes hot.
  17. I wouldn't mind Swanson throws a lot of strikes and gets strikeouts has performed well this year. Probably a future reliever but he might be a back end type. I would like to think we are going to get at least one top 10 guy though.
  18. Shatkins deserves a ton of credit for that Happ contract. He was the guy that was essentially brought in to replace David Price and arguably out performed him for 3 years at a fraction of the cost. Very successful contract and now we get a return of prospects for their investment as well.
  19. I'm not ready to give Joel Sherman much credibility yet either lol. This actually made me laugh pretty hard.
  20. I would be quite disappointed Brandon Drury is the main piece for Happ. Hes just not very good and I don't understand where he would even play. We have to many infielders 2 spots as it is and we don't even have Donaldson and healthy yet and Vlad Jr is on the cusp. I wanted to at least bring home one of their better pitching prospects. And if we were going to get an MLB player that fell of the map this year I would have hoped it would be Domingo Santana instead.
  21. If you do ban me try not to delete my account like the unstable Swedish mod thanks.
  22. I can see a team taking Axford for a middle relief role. No sense keeping him around if you can move him anyway. As for the Oh trade. I was honestly hoping for a bit more considering he has that option and isn't a pure rental. But the 2 guys we have are interesting at least. Spanberger has shown big time power albeit being old for the level still 70 raw power plays. And if he starts moving faster after this year he can catch up to his age group fast with that power. Forrest Wall was a guy I was intrigued about when he was draft eligible. Apparently he was bad at second base but had the athleticism to play a decent CF. If he can get that bat going and continue show casing his speed and have potential position versatility as well. We may have something here. Heres hoping we can send out all of these FA relief pitchers.
  23. Hes basically been every Yankees trade rumour since May.
  24. The fact that a bidding war is currently taking place only bolds well for us. Its whoever offers the best prospect first wins.
  25. Yankees must have got their attention. Colour me intrigued.
