    I don't think they will DH Vlad everyday. Actually I know they won't. If Donaldson is infact back next year and I'm not sure that will be the case. They will probably rotate Donaldson, Vlad, and Smoak around 1B, 3B, and DH. Or maybe Donaldson accepts the QO and they trade him anyway. And we can't rule out Smoak getting moved out. I think this roster will be very different come opening day next year. So many things are unknown at this point.

    Its true that he never runs hard to first on ground balls. And I thought there was more than one situation where he could have reached first base and didn't due to lack of hustle. But hes also just really slow. So when you combine being really slow with lack of hustle its a nightmare combination on the bases.

    I am fully expecting Vlad to be on this roster and playing everyday September 1st. I would be shocked if it didn't happen. I hope I'm wrong but that's what I'm expecting.

    He really should just shave his head at this point.

    His numbers are in complete free fall and his advanced numbers are awful. I would take a lottery ticket for him. I can see them keeping him for the 5.5 million option and trying to trade him next year before they have to make a decision on the 8.5 one. But I would rather they just move him now. We just have way to many players for 2 spots. We can only pray that we can trade some of this glut for pitching.

    LGJ has already out homered him 7-6 this season in less than half the at-bats!

    I’m assuming Oliver Drake won’t be on the roster tonight anyway after getting shelled and we will need a fresh arm to get through this bullpen day.

    I do as well but Bo has had an up and down season. Seems they we have been waiting forever for him to put together a sustained hot streak. He hasn’t really warranted the promotion.

    They aren’t seriously considering Travis Shaw at 2B are they?

    I would be shocked if Tulo played another game for the Jays. They are probably just going to eat the remainder of his deal. And honestly the jury is out on wether he will healthy for next spring training. His career might be over for all we know. It would be nice if you could collect some kind of injury insurance if players just can’t play anymore. But the Mets have been paying David Wright a lot to not play Baseball for 4 or 5 years.

    Orioles would be smart to move them both now. Did a competent intern start running the show in Baltimore or something lol.

    No reason to have him here on past July 31st. I will take a lottery ticket for him. But they might exercise his 5.5m option and trade him next year before it jumps up to 8.5 million. I would rather they just deal him now though.

    I had the exact same thoughts as soon as I heard that he was released. But apparently he plans to sign with the first team that's in a playoff race that wants to use him.

    I'm aware of that. But he will need to be protected from the Rule 5 draft this winter. What's the difference between adding him now and December? The service time he gets will be minimal. I would like to see him a make a handful of starts right now personally. Reward him for his great year and also get a look at him.

    He needs to be added to the 40-man in December anyway. 2 months of service time isn't exactly going to prevent us from keeping him longer or even send him into arbitration early. Nothing wrong with seeing what you have. Unless you want to continue to see a parade of s*** ballers for the rest of the season. I personally don't want to see Nick Tepesch. I would like a reason to watch the games down the stretch.

    If hes pitches well its possible we could move in August because he will easily clear waivers. Any savings on him would be worth it. But as Laika pointed out we would have to eat probably 90% of his contract including his buyout to even get back a PTBNL at this point. And that's assuming someone will want him.

    I would love to see SRF finish the season with the Jays. He needs to be added to the 40-man in the off-season anyway. May as well get him some experience and he will have an opportunity to compete for a rotation spot in Spring already having MLB experience. With that being said they will likely go to Thomas Pannone first who is already on the 40-man or put Jaime Garcia back in the rotation.

    Granderson makes a lot of sense for them. I definitely see that happening.
