    I was honestly hoping Drury would just get non tendered. Kind of surprised hes still here but they clearly like him for some reason.

    I like the pickup for them. Perhaps “steal” was not the right word to use but I think hes good for that lineup and will give them some value. Not a reason to cause any kind of fuss though.

    I’m hoping Shaw never faces left-handed pitching ever. EDIT: I’m hoping his right-handed platoon bat joins the roster soon. Was hoping that was going to be Edwin but we all don’t get what we want.

    Considering some of the garbage contracts around Baseball. I would say getting Thames that cheap is a nice pickup. A lot of assumption that Shaw is going to bounce back to where he was. Maybe he just sucks now. Either way at 1B in a platoon I would have preferred Thames. Plain and simple that’s my opinion. No need for the dick bag comments. That’s why new people don’t post here. Its a low risk move either way. I hope it works out.

    Steal for the Nats. Would have much preferred signing him over Shaw.

    Honestly if we could get Price on 60% of his salary I think that’s something you have to explore. But it seems like it was one or the other between Price or Ryu. Whether it’s another impact position player or just another starter through trade I’m thinking something has got to go down. The bullpen hasn’t really been addressed either. Tons of spots to fill. Maybe they go for cheap options per usual. Shaw needs a platoon partner and Tellez as the Everyday DH doesn’t excite anybody. Arguably should be fighting for spot not handed one. He still has an option as well.

    I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. The Ryu deal on its own just doesn’t make any sense to me.

    Now just get one of those K-Pop bands to play at games and they will sell out every night. Literally.

    I respect that we were involved but it seems like it was either The Yankees or Southern California.

    I wonder what dictated that because in terms of minor league numbers Sanchez was arguably the worst of the 3. You remember hearing about the stuff but rarely seeing the results.

    Makes me wonder how many times AA really tried to trade Syndergaard. He never had a chance to remain a Blue Jay. How depressing.

    If the Red Sox are eating half that money sign me up for David Price. I’m sure he would love to get out of Boston and he seemed to enjoy his time in Toronto.

    I still want Edwin back. Shaw should only face right handed pitching. Tellez can play in AAA or be moved to any team that wants him no issues.

    I would rather they brought in Thames as well and told Rowdy to kick rocks personally.

    I’m very down having Edwin finish his career here. Perfect in the DH slot and can play a little 1B. Would be an awesome veteran for the young latins as well.

    This is really just a head scratcher. We really couldn’t do any better. I don’t even know how he got 2 guaranteed years let alone 12 million per. This is like a spending moneys for the sake of spending kind of move. Hey look we’re doing something. Its not a good something but it’s certainly a something!

    Yea no thanks. I actually don’t mind him but the compensation is a steep price. What a broken system. Its literally so stupid that you can trap players with the QO tag. A guy like Donaldson is probably not going to get a multi year deal like he desires because nobody will give up term and compensation. So he’s probably going to be back in Atlanta on a one year deal at a little more than the Qualifying offer.

    Its pretty clear the Jays have zero faith in Danny Jansen hitting at this level. Grandal would be nice. Power and gets on base from the Catchers position. Rare combo.

    Jays gave up nothing. I’m pleasantly surprised. Its a solid move. Nothing to be overly excited about but it’s a nice little move.

    1. No that’s inherently false 2. Just because you might not get someone better doesn’t mean you don’t try. 3. Drury would not get an MLB deal on the open market.

    I keep telling myself only 1 more year of Montoyo just 1 more year of Montoyo. Hes just here as the bitch manager to take all the L’s until the team is ready to be competitive.

    Potentially risking the 5th overall pick to win this game. Tomorrow has to be loss unless Seattle wins tonight. Blue Jays fans should be Mariners fans this weekend. Lets hope they can take one more from Oakland.
