    I would imagine if they were trading Fletcher they would want him in a deal for an impact starter. But they are also shopping Bundy who they control next season so who knows what they are thinking. At some point they need to put a pitching staff together. They are wasting Trout’s career.

    Kay can go in the rotation for me. He deserves the first shot in my opinion.

    Its nice to be on the other side of one of those for once. Shaw has hit into 3 of those alone.

    Please Atkins. Add to this lineup. Flaccid bat Danny can hit 9th but say no to Drury and Panik.

    Just curious why you would say you know for a fact he would want to stay long term. That’s a fairly bold statement. Even though he would not have a long term home at SS here.

    I don’t even think it’s worth selling. You’re not going to get anything worthwhile. We don’t need to shed salary. I say you make some low risk upgrades and have some fun in September. Get another decent starter if you can but we need a couple bats. You just can’t have Drury and Panik get regular at-bats. A platoon guy with Shaw would also be extremely helpful. Unfortunately you have to put up with Jansen and McGuire unless you chase a big fish like Realmuto which I don’t think is the play. Edit: If your going to have a manager that likes to get everyone playing time and use his bench. Atleast give him some talent to work with.

    I don’t see the Phillies quitting. NL East kinda sucks this year. I would not be shocked if the Yankees went after him. Gary Sanchez has been awful at the plate and has always sucked defensively also has an extensive injury history. Could see them chasing that move for a chance to win it all.

    Absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t be trying to add to this lineup. The cost are going to be low. Obviously you don’t move any top prospect for a short term move. I think its a situation where you toss AAAA player or 2 eat some salary and get some more talent on your roster. The bottom of the lineup and bench is just awful.

    I hope Atkins is looking for some bench help. Half our lineup should be platooned. Just not enough talent at the plate.

    Rays scorers are extremely generous. They gave Biggio a hit last night on a sharp bouncer that the First Basemen just whiffed on.

    With his injury history I would be surprised. Seems like a guy they want to be a multi inning reliever. He will definitely start the 8th.
