Depth is an issue. Reliever usage is an issue. Pitch selection is an issue. But the biggest issue on this team might be John Schneider You have lefty hitters on the bench. 3 of them actually. But you opt to use Danny Jansen and Santiago Espinal vs RHP instead. If you aren't confident that Belt and Biggio can't have better at-bats than those guys against RHP. I question why they are being rostered. Than we go back to the decision to take Merrifield the 5th place hitter out of the lineup and the guy who played more games at Second Base than anyone this season. Instead of taking out Espinal whose hitting 9th and committed an error in the previous inning to get Kiermaiers defense in CF. That decision immediately backfired when the Jays coughed up the lead and Kiermaier came up to hit in the 5th spot. Maybe if Kiermaier gets that bunt down and advances Chapman to third we aren't even having this conversation. But it was still the wrong decision. Why would you remove the better hitter from the lineup when Espinal is at best marginally better Second Baseman. I understand getting Kiermaier in but why not for the 9th slot. Just doesn't make any sense.

I just can't believe some of those decisions late. Terrible loss. Haunting loss. One you think about for a long time.

Brash is nasty but prone to mistakes.

The Espinal usage there is just mind blowing.

Again using f***ing Espinal against RHP. We have Leftys on the bench. Why?

Its been highly questionable today. Even the pitch call to Teo when it sas 8-4 was brutal.

If you aren’t using Belt in this situation I have no idea why he’s on the roster. If the Jays think Danny Jansen is a better hitter vs RHP at this point that’s a huge alarm going off for me.

Everyone knows why Kiermaier was brought in. Its who Scheneider removed is who I have problem with.

Merrifield is a good Second Baseman. You just removed one of your better bats for nothing.

So Kiermaier is definitely bunting here. Why not just move Merrifield to Second Base if you wanted to bring in Kiermaier. We lost Merrifields bat for nothing.

If Pop was available I’m confused why he wasn’t used. He’s certainly pitched himself into those situations.

Bullpen depth tested and faltered. Was my concern going into this game knowing we wouldn’t have Swanson or Romano.

Garcia just isn’t that guy.

They really don't want Pearson to come in with runners on. He is also very prone to walks so not ideal roll for him. He could have came in instead of Bass for that situation.

This is a little above Garcia's roll in my opinion. But hes probably the best available option today.
