Depth is nice, but is everyone comfortable with our primary options? If Tulo and it Travis flame out in 2018 will the depth pieces be able to provide the type of production you need from a team that wants to contend? If they're expected to be every day players...

Look at what's happening in Hollywood. Men in a position of power think they're above the rules. We've known that about Pro athletes forever. Coddled. Entitled. Their handlers are enablers. They'll f*** anything that moves if they can. Not saying all are like this, but plenty are... The culture promotes it. -
Leafs win in shootouts. But almost as good, Kadri and Jumbo Joe get into a fight right at the beginning of the game and Kadri rips a big chunk of Joe's beard right off his face during the fight.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying or that Walker is the superior player. I'm really curious to see how Omar Vizquel fares. Imagine that D in the OF...but with that same O production. Would he even get a sniff? Not a chance. I bet he gets way more votes than he probably deserves. Was he a fantastic defensive SS? Yes. But he was not a very good offensive player....not at all. .688 career OPS. But 2877 hits. Curious to see if the voting has evolved at all...voters (used to/still) love their hits.

Voters still look at position. Corner OF's are "supposed" to have gaudy offensive numbers, which middle infielders historically don't put up at the same level. Jeter gets more love for being a SS. Deserved or not, it's the way it is.

Meh. I was actually curious myself as I'd never really looked into the name choice. I like a good troll job as much as the next guy, but I would've hoped he'd pick something where he could at least come across as being somewhat clever.

“Why not the Maple Leaves”? Why was the name not pluralized with ‘ves’ as opposed to the ‘fs’ it currently has? Well, the answer again lies in the fact that the team name was adopted directly from the Maple Leaf regiment. Let me explain with a very brief grammar lesson. Most know that words that end in ‘f’ are pluralized by dropping the ‘f’ and adding ‘ves’. But that is true of common nouns (most, but not all – ie. “roofs”). Proper nouns, simply put, are nouns that are specific names of people, places and things. And when these proper nouns end in ‘f’, they are pluralized by simply adding an ‘s’. So, Leaf (from the regiment) becomes Leafs.
