  1. Belt and Kirk were both huge these past two games. Great character building win!
  2. Wonder where we would be if manoah was his old self
  3. Just when you need a stopper up against a good pitcher. Gaus steps up almost every times ala R.H....RIP
  4. Gaus lowers that ERA........not to hex the guy but he could be in line for a cy young trophy.
  5. That EXACT homerun that Bo just hit is what vladdy needs to get back into his game. He used to smoke 110mph plus lines drives the other way consistently.....hope we get to see that again soon
  6. Bo knows dingers!
  7. If Gaus could throw that slider a little more....he'd be even better IMO, especially if he could throw it for strikes consistently. I think it would get him deeper into games and keep hitters off his split. Verlander did it masterfully and has hitters on the defensive almost every AB. That slider/change and curve combo have made him a beast. Am I going off topic AGAIN? Old age, pffffft.
  8. Vladdy's another one who is far too talented to be held down. I think he needs to shorten his swing a bit and keep himself under control more. When he was pun ding the ball a few years back, his opposite field line drive hard hit percentage was way up. Haven't seen him pound line drives to right or right centre with regularity anymore. Speaks volumes but hey, I'm no coach, just an observer. Sorry, off topic
  9. yeah, I think he's finally looking completely healthy. You can definitely see it in his outfield play. Only a matter of time before the bat followed
  10. George seems to be heating up big time! Good to see. Far too talented to be held down.
  11. i think that by his response about throwing balls and strikes, that there's definitely a large mental aspect to it. I think he needs to regain his confidence amongst other things that many others have mentioned here. When that doubt creeps in and you start telling yourself you "can't throw a ball here?" That leads to a lot of meatballs being served up to hungry, experienced hitters who know exactly what he is thinking. I think it has affected his velocity, his delivery, command and every thing else that goes with it.
  12. Stop trying to pretend his metrics say he had a stellar year when fact is he had everything but that. He was average overall and the only thiung stellar about him were his numbers through 5 innings. That's not what makes a great starter, never mind a stellar one
  13. His W/L numbers aren't what I was arguing although I did bring it up. Just love how you pick that out and ignore everything else.... ROFLMAO
  14. Only facing 81 batters after pitch 90 he gave up 8hr with a slugging .654 and oba of .358 for and ops of .988......and his numbers were not much better on pitches 76-90. Indicated to me that his overall numbers are skewed, including the ERA I mentioned. But what it does say is that he runes pretty good for 5 or 6 max and then gets shelled to sat the least. His late inning numbers are as ugly as they get. I mean, 1 hr per 10 AB? a .307 BAA? slug of .654 and obp of .358? Great early but garbage late
  15. Stellar year? is that what you call that? Cos the only guy I;d rather see him pitch over was Dickey. Stroman was decent for the first six inning and then his numbers implode. Look at his late game splits and you see the hitters absolutely mauled him after he reached 80 pitches. His metrics can be studly all they want but fact is that he was less than a .500 pitcher with an ERA bordering four and a half with horrible numbers in the late innings. Not so stellar IMO, but that;s just me.
  16. I am not a bandwagon jumper as I called out Sanchez as the superior talent years ago. Sanchez is a no 1 all the way to bank and all the way to the end of his career. I think you mixed things up because Marcus is the one who is a no 4 or 5 at best and he sank back to this reality this year and we will see it next year as well. Sanchez is twice the talent Stroman is and I don't even think theres any point debating it at all
  17. Are you still trying little man? Can't let it go eh tranny?
  18. Glad you understand...maybe if you ever played the game you would. Just stop talking now. Thanks
  19. He's also pitching in the NL east, in a much more pitcher friendly ballpark. Put him in the AL east and see what kind of numbers he puts up. I'd bet my house they are nowhere near what he's putting up over there. Put him in our homer dome and watch that ERA inflate and that WAR shrink. I'll take sanchez every single time, no contest. Not knocking Noah, but he doesn't have the calibre of fastball that Aaron does. When sanchez gains some command and confidence in his change up, he's going to get much much better. Sanchez is the bigger stud
  20. The biggest game of the year against a hot hitting lineup and in their ballpark. Sanchez, our ace, comes out and shuts them right the f*** down. It's really a shame he didn't get better defense and bullpen help or he would be contending for a Cy Young award. A long way to come for a guy who most labelled as a no 5 in this rotation. Best ERA in the A.L, went 15-2and was lights out against the AL east. f***ing beast.
  21. It's funny reading back through a few of the Sanchez threads and seeing people bag against Sanchez. He's been money against the AL east this year and could easily be 17 or 18-2 if it weren't for some shoddy defense behind him as well as a bullpen that was in bad shape early on. Now Sanchez looks like the guy who would start the wild card for us and yet not too long ago, people were getting laughed at for comparing him to Stroman. It's only one season, but his numbers say that he's an ace at this level and most everybody were arguing and downright laughing at that assertion.
  22. So many people who should be eating major crow regarding this guy. I remember people insisting he was trash and lookie here! 80 percent quality start rate? 10-1 with the third best ERA in the league? Way to go Aaron!
