  1. Agreed it's nobody's business. Bt they probably keep him on the roster, even if he's still expected to miss games 1 and 2, maybe even 3,4
  2. The one thing I don't like about Bautista is his tendency to argue with the umpires, everything else he's great. I'm still undecided about what to do with him next year. His arm is still great, but his fielding has dipped. I kind of want to take him out of RF, but I don't really see how we can. Prior to this season, I thought about having him go to third and LAwrie to second, but obviously with Donaldson that is not even a consideration. The other option is for him to be 1B, with Edwin at DH, but then we lose Colabello's spot if his form continues
  3. I would go for a 2+1 deal ( 10 ,10 ,10 if option is team option or 8,9,10 if option is player option - make him give up some $ for the optout)
  4. Pro: We are the Toronto Blue Jays Con: It's one game. Throw all the stats out the window. Stats hold up over a season, in one game, its 25 men vs 25 men, anything can happen
  5. I came into the game thinking the strategy would've been Dickey for half the game 5 IP and then Price for the rest 4 IP, so Price would be on regular rest for game 1 and Stro- for Game 5. When Gibby took Dckey out exactly after twice through the order. I figured that was exactly the plan.
  6. I'm all for a 4IP Dickey, 4IP Price.
  7. No, I was saying ideally I would sign him to a contract with incentives. But he since he is arbitration eligible, he has no reason to
  8. I never saw it as what would happen, but what I would like. But I was basing it off the -1.7 WAR I saw on Baseball-Reference, thinking there was no way the Jays would offer more than 1.5 if that was his true WAR. But after comparing it to Fangraphs calculation, I can see how the 2.9 figure is more realistic and how the Jays will probably offer closer to that amount.
  9. If we could sign him without going to arbitration was what I meant
  10. I used Baseball-Reference. Knew there was variations across different sites, but had no idea it could be that extreme difference. -1.7 to 1.5 is huge
  11. Let's go Jays https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWGl3BLlINc (remake of the 93 commercial)
  12. It's all about the remake of the Coca Cola 93 Commercial 93 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWGl3BLlINc&feature=youtu.be
  13. Because he had a 13-5 record, all he does is win as Zaun says. Seriously though, I get that he gets a raise from his minimum-type deals because now he's arb eligible, but I think $2.9M is high. He posted a -1.7 WAR. I say $1.25M + $1M in incentives
  14. Yeah, it was said earlier that the projected figure for Cecil was miscalculated and they were going to fix it. No way he gets 1.4M, I just left it as it was though so the source was the same. It's since been fixed on MLBTR so, I've updated it
  15. Brett Cecil (5.152) – $3.4MM* (2015:$2.48MM) Michael Saunders (5.138) – $2.9MM (2015:$2.88MM) Justin Smoak (5.077) – $2MM* (2015:$1MM) Ben Revere (4.149) – $6.7MM (2015:$4.1MM) Josh Thole (4.126) – $1.8MM (2015:$1.75MM) Josh Donaldson (3.158) – $12.0MM (2015:$4.3MM) Drew Hutchison (3.128) – $2.6MM (2015:$520,100) Aaron Loup (3.083) – $900K (2015:$527,500) Steve Delabar (3.008) – $700K (2014**:$515,900) Added the 2015 salaries (from baseball-reference) to the numbers posted by burlington - 2014 salary for Delabar *updated figures from MLBTR
  16. Is that the date I'll be banned? Trade Deadline 2016 lol. When AA deals them all for the World Series title defense
  17. So, if the game starts at 7:07; theoretically we have until 7:06 (basically whenever they hand in the lineup card to the ump)?
  18. Looking forward to reading this thread until July 31, 2016
  19. When does the roster get released? I figure after the WC, but does it have to be a certain date/time? I never paid attention to actual rosters in the past few years, since the Jays haven't been in it. Just would watch games
  20. 1 Martin 2 Smoak 3 Goins 4 Tulo 5 Donaldson 6 Revere 7 Pillar 8 Bautista 9 Encarnacion 10 Colabello 11 Navarro 12 Pennington 13 Pompey 14 Price 15 Stroman 16 Dickey 17 Estrada 18 Osuna 19 Cecil 20 Sanchez 21 Lowe 22 Hendriks 23 Loup 24 Buerhle 25 Hawkins or Carerra or Hague (depending on if you want an extra pitcher or speed or PH)
  21. Maybe MLB will say "Tropicana Field is a stupid stadium anyways with all the catwalks and stuff. Our normal rules don't apply. Buerhle innings count" lol
  22. After two innings, take off the mask and say, it was me all along
  23. Bring out Buerhle for the 8th. Put him in another jersey
  24. But our bullpen is coming down with a case of the hangover after we clinch tomorrow (with a double win, with a KC loss) and buerhle becomes necessary
