  1. All the fans who say its just money, spend it on Bautista will be the first to complain that they were stupid for signing him to such a big deal in a couple years if his production falls off. It's like the Cardinal fans who called the team cheap for not resigning Pujols. Pujols, the guy who ESPN named today as the player with the biggest albatross contract in the MLB. Foresight is key. If signing 32 year old Pujols to a deal based on his current level was a bad idea, pretty sure signing a 36 year old to a long term current level deal is too. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/14827368/albert-pujols-tops-list-baseball-biggest-albatrosses-worst-contracts-mlb
  2. They still have the three snapbacks in stock. The fitted (the one with jays logo) they only have big sizes left 7 3/4 being smallest. I was there today
  3. I don't mind giving Colabello LF reps. It's spring training, after all, doesn't matter. But you never know what could happen in a game (18 innings, injuries, Interleague games) where the bench ends up getting too short. Happens a couple times every season where you play guys out of position - Martin at 2nd, EE and JB at 3rd, Goins in LF, etc
  4. Still FA after 2018, just means we skip arbitration next year, and would only have to go back in 2018
  5. Yeah, he stole the #1 alphabetical order spot from Hank Aaron.
  6. Barney signed a major league deal for 1.05 mil I'm adding his $1 million buyout we paid from declining his option, so he get $1.1M in total in 2016 from us. Basically started as a joke that we paid him more to not be our MIF than we are paying any of our other MIFs (besides Tulo)
  7. So he'll make more than Barney if he stays in AAA all year based on the Article XX-B retention bonus I just read about http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/the-full-meaning-of-signing-a-minor-league-deal-021315
  8. We need players for those games post AL East clinching where our roster is hungover
  9. Given we already paid a $1 million buyout to him this year, he's probably our second highest paid middle infielder after Tulo. I'm assuming Goins, Barney, and Travis are all on <$1M deals
  10. Opening Night 2013. I know there's a highlight reel somewhere. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/cws/video/v25961341/cletor-arancibia-still-learning-to-handle-knuckler
  11. You mean you're forgetting that one game where he came in as a defensive replacement and didn't record an at-bat??? I did too lol, just saw it on wikipedia when I looked it up to see if he was still in baseball (The answer is no, by the way)
  12. This is why Sanchez thinks he added 25 pounds http://i.imgur.com/i4E6el3.png
  13. So we should see the following, Jays have 12 run lead, 2 outs in 9th inning, bring in Storen just to make the Nats spend more money lol (fyi not serious, I'm not advocating potentially wasting his arm in games that do not matter)
  14. Even if it's a net zero move, it's a positive in the case of injuries. Before trade, an outfield injury results in a small decline with Pompey replacing, but a BP injury say Cecil would have major implications. Post trade, an outfield injury is still minor with Saunders in as replacement (assuming he comes back in normal form from his injury), but a BP injury is less devastating since we have Storen
  15. Donaldson, Storen, Chavez, Cecil, Saunders, loup, Hutchinson, and delabar officially file for arbitration as expectedhttp://i.tsn.ca/mobile/StoryXML.aspx?id=570277
  16. Cash is coming because Storen makes more than Revere. It's just like a straight swap without changing financial position. We did the same thing last year in the Saunders for Happ deal. It's basically like retaining salary, but instead they just send $$ to cover the difference.
  17. Clearly it was a joke, and not serious, considering we traded Syndergaard for Dickey years ago.
  18. I looked at your post for a solid 15 seconds thinking who's Noah, until it hit me that it's not a last name, but a first name and is Syndergaard lol
  19. Not everyday, but I wouldn't put it past Gibby to put him in there once in a while to 'get his bat in the lineup'
  20. Hopefully Saunders and/or Pompey prove they have what it takes this season. Don't want to see Carrera or Colabello get reps in LF. Pipe dream would be getting Upton on the rumoured one-year deal. Answers a big part of or bullpen. Osuna-Storen-Cecil-Sanchez-Loup-Biagini-(Delabar/Shultz/Tepera/Other) Another arm would be good, but that's alot better. I know many want Sanchez and/or Osuna in AAA to start, but I doubt it'll happen.
  21. Wouldn't surprise me to see Colabello back in LF
  22. It's not that hard.
  23. I know he's born and raised in the US, and he never was with his dad, but since the Mexican team called him, I included it.
  24. We have to have the most Mexican players now right? Osuna. Sanchez, Estrada, Leon
