Genuinely indifferent. He can be infuriating at times with misplaced loyalty, odd bullpen and pinch hitting decisions and being slow to try new tactics such as platoons and changing the batting order, but on the other hand he has made some positive and courageous calls that have won us games and for which he often receives very little credit.
I don't pretend to know what his clubhouse management is like, but he seems at least on the surface to have a good working relationship with his star players. He also strikes me as a manager who is straightforward with all his players and most do appreciate this.
Personally overall I would probably prefer someone more experienced at the helm, but I'm certainly not one of the 'lynch Gibbons' mob, that's for sure.
