  1. This is a good article. I wasn't familiar with this writer. https://medium.com/@NaeNaeTakes/the-blue-jays-have-modernized-their-pitching-development-heres-what-that-looks-like-a775b3c020d2
  2. I will offer Jobu cigar and rum to forgive me. I did leave it out on purpose though. You could replace an underperforming MLB team with a team in any other sport and the story is the same. Good movie but doesn't really teach you anything about baseball.
  3. Hey Matt, glad you are connecting to the team and the sport! Another bit of advice I would have is to watch some of the best baseball movies of all-time! Here are some of my favourites. Bull Durham - baseball at the minor-league level Field of Dreams - A glimpse of the nostalgia of baseball Moneyball - how and why analytics started to become more mainstream using actual history and real characters The Sandlot - kids growing up around the game, super fun movie The Rookie - based on a true story, underdog makes the majors late in his career A League of Their Own - another fun movie about a women's league started while men were in the war Eight Men Out - looking back at the biggest scandal in MLB and the story of shoeless Joe. John Cusack is great Let us know if you have seen any of these!
  4. September 9 (3:07pm) Vladdy 2 Points Springer - 4 Points Schneider- 6 Points - Candy Maldonado, Omar Varsho - 6 Points Kirk - 10 Points - Dylan Biggio - 10 Points Kiermaier - 14 Points Horwitz - 16 Points - WryNGinger Off the bench: 20 Points - Spanky, Abomination,
  5. Agreed. This could/should be the off-season that defines his career. No matter what excuses he tells himself, the bottom line will be that he did not show up to camp in optimal fitness. Maybe there was an injury ?...maybe this...maybe that? He needs to ask himself "did you do everything you could to help yourself and the team win?". And the answer will be "NO". Some athletes are talent, some athletes are perseverance. He is coming across as a flash-in-the-pan dude that will write an autobiography in 20 years trying to talk about he could have been a big star. f*** you Alek. Earn your money like the rest of the world or pack your bags. No one feels sorry for you.
  6. Kirky for me today
  7. Adam Macko another solid game in Van yesterday. Since mid July he has looked mostly really good. I mentioned a while back he was on the radio saying that he had stated to figure some things out with regards to staying even keel.
  8. I will go KK for Wed, if he is out I will go Espi again
  9. Now I can't get that image out of mind...ugh. Why you do that bro?
  10. Vladdy 1 Point - Robinthicc, TBF Springer - 2 Points - Fighting_Yeti Schneider- 3 Points - Spanky, JaysAllmighty, Jonn, Candy Maldonado, Merrifield - 3 Points Varsho - 3 Points Kirk - 5 Points Biggio - 5 Points Kiermaier - 7 Points Espinal - 8 Points - Dylan, WryNGinger Off the bench: 10 Points - Abomination
  11. Would Bellinger have had the same results if he had stayed? That's always the conundrum with players not living up to their potential in any sport. It's a proven fact that some dudes need a slap wake call by being shipped out before they focus and get their s*** together. And some get shipped and continue to suck...
  12. It is almost unbelievable how many truly horrible umps there are in MLB. https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2023/09/03/rays-guardians-umpire-cb-bucknor-strikeout-after-two-strikes
  13. I think the Horwitz HR should count as bench on a technicality. Belt was in the lineup and got taken out...lol. Isn't that bench? (I need this...)
  14. I want them to give Babe and Horowoitoz a chance but this front office is just as likely to trade one of them for a more established position player. I guess it might make sense if another team had a 3B or LF and valued one of those guys highly. It would be really nice to see them succeed as home-grown talent though.
  15. My opinion of Vlad this point is that I have no reason to question his talent. I have a lot of reasons to question his dedication and commitment. A lot of teams in a lot of sports have had "that guy" that was supposed to be a rock-star but failed to achieve that goal. He is one of those players that seems bound to underachieve with the Jays and has a chance to figure it out on another team. Sometimes the only way to kick someone in the ass is too pull the chair out from them first. Vlad needs a wake up call and I don't think he will get it with the Jays. I want the Jays to move on from him this off-season. He thinks he is the golden-child and can do no wrong in spite of his abysmal performance. The team and the Toronto media needs to stop gargling his balls and treat him like an every day ball player. It's pretty sad that so much of the Sportsnet marketing has been around him and Manoah. Based on performance this season they should both be off the team.
  16. Probably same odds.
  17. I will jinx Belt for Sunday. If he isn't starting then Springer.
  18. Sept 2 (8:10pm) Double points Saturday Vladdy - 2 Point - Springer - 4 Points - Schneider - 6 Points - Merrifield - 6 Points - Varsho - 6 Points - Kirk - 10 Points - JaysAllMighty Kiermaier - 14 Points - robinthicc Espinal - 16 Points - WryNGinger Clement - 16 Points - Off the bench: 20 Points -
  19. Why is pic so tiny? Ump score card from Angel last night. As bad as anyone that saw the game thought.
  20. What a s*** show tonight. Strike zone is a ball, way outside is a strike. At least he was f***ing clueless for both teams tonight.
  21. Made of glass? Dude gets abused more than anyone in the game. Getting a deflection off his finger and his finger breaking is definitely not made of glass...lol.
  22. Heard a good interview with him on SN650 this past weekend. He seems like a smart ball-player.
  23. What is more likely to happen? Jays make the wild-card? Boston passes the Jays by end of season? Pretty even odds on those if you ask me.
  24. HBP wins the game. Beautiful.
