Yah, he has looked lost up there a lot lately. Can't blame him on the last ab with the ump calling those low pitches strikes. Defensive swing for the out.
That seems to be the consensus. I thought in a sellers market they might gotten more but maybe their scouts like these guys more. Good on them I guess.
Funny how the trolls slober over the Varsho trade while nary a mention goes by regarding the Martin/Richardson trade that landed the team their current AL wild card starter for game one.
Pure rental with good stuff this for a meager return. Am I missing something? This seems like a s*** deal for the Mets. Surely they could have gotten more than lottery scratch tickets for a guy with good numbers on an expiring contract no?
Spite sell for the Mets? Message to the team?
For those of you around Vancouver, Gibby will be at a Canadians game Aug 8th for a meet and greet. The team is calling it "Superstar appearance by John Gibbons". So there you go...Superstar.
Agreed but it was too expensive to get to Seattle from Victoria this year. I saw Griffey, Buhner and Johnson back in 1990 I think? The Jays had Steib, Stottlemyre, McGriff, Olerud and Fernandez. Both teams were fun to watch that year.
Isn't he more extra starter/long-man depth though? I'd like to see them target more of a fireballer/swing and miss guy for when runners are on base and we need outs. Between Ryu/Manoah/Richards our post season long men are covered.
What? No man... You "reward" the guys that have carried the team and thrown a s*** ton of innings by giving them an extra days rest while ramping up for a play-off run. The top 4 in the rotation are set, you need to know what you have with Manoah and they are paying Ryu 20 million. Add to that the bullpen needs some rest if you are going to save them if one of the 6 starters get lit up. Health is as important as talent once you make the postseason.
They should let all 6 guys pitch the next 3 times through the rotation.
