  1. Interesting that the poll results (right now) are evenly split at the 2 additional seasons mark, with half giving Shatkins more rope. What for you is "contending?" Battling for the division? Meaningful games in Sept? In the wildcard hunt till the last weekend of the season? Playing above .500?
  2. Any other season ticket holders here still hangin' on to their seats or has everyone bailed during these hard times?
  3. so the Blue Jays FO should pretend that they have a solid squad to keep the fairweather fans around?
  4. "There is pain coming." Mike Babcock, 2015
  5. maybe the FO fears publicly using the word "rebuild" while jacking up ticket prices about 17% to watch a mediocre squad of mostly scrubs (who probably won't be here in 2 years?)
  6. Besides opening day, the Jays have drawn over 40K only twice so far this season ... yesterday and the other mid-week 12:37 pm starting game against the Angels where they packed the joint with cheap tickets for big groups of kids. s*** seats (from the box office) ain't cheap for Canada Day.
  7. speaking of attendance at the Rogers Centre ... the Canada Day game is 10 days away and still plenty of seats remain unsold ... when was the last time the Canada Day game was not a sellout?
  8. ya gotta love Solarte's jump between 3rd & home lol
  9. never thought i'd be missing Jose Reyes' defense.
  10. maybe we'll be treated to seeing Morales pitch today?
  11. Why is it a definitive "No?" (well, the ring actually would be handed out next year in the unlikely event that the Braves are the 2018 champs and Bats is deemed worthy.)
  12. well, even if he's done, at least he has a shot at getting a WS ring this year.
  13. Makes common sense. But they still contacted everybody who didn't renew their tickets to ask "Why not?"
  14. yeah but not knowing whether Kendrys is going to be sporting spectacles from PA to PA provides some entertainment value.
  15. Both the Leafs & the Raptors lasted in the playoffs for the same length of time as they did in 2017, so that doesn't account for the drop-off. The Jays simply sold thousands of fewer season tickets and game packs over the winter.
  16. I find it kinda funny that the CBC & The Star reported that the Jays get a cut of tickets resold on StubHub as some kind of gotcha shocking investigative news. All MLB teams have an arrangement with StubHub. So I imagine that all MLB teams get their cut. The Jays are not unique in this. And the Jays aren't secretive about it. They encourage their season ticket holders to resell on StubHub and make it very easy for them to do so directly from their Blue Jays account online.
  17. what cut do the Jays get when a ticket is sold on StubHub? (that's a revenue stream the club didn't have 3 years ago ... but every team has an agreement with StubHub now)
  18. the Mendoza line is .200, and so Kendrys' legacy as a Blue Jay will be the Morales line of .100
  19. maybe Kendrys should try putting more tape on his fingers?
  20. do you think that Morales will top Joe Cannon's slash line with the 1980 Blue Jays of .080/.098/.080? at least Joe (aka JJ) had a little bit of value on the bases.
  21. Braun was basically just a pinch hitter. He's up there among the leaders in all-time pinch hits.
  22. so I guess the Jays will have 15 thousand Osuna t-shirts lying in boxes for a long time.
  23. Great News!!! Morales open to being used as a pitcher. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-notebook-morales-open-used-pitcher/
