  1. Seattle, Tampa, Chicago
  2. About 50 games left. Many teams in the mix. All bunched up. Who do you got grabbing the wild cards? (in order)
  3. I'd like to see the Orioles still alive going into the final series with the Jays ... (for the story and the drama.) But (yeah) the Mariners, Rays and Twins/Guardians are the more serious threats for a wild card.
  4. Well if this is the movie, then maybe we'll get a helluva ending . . . game 162 in Baltimore with the winner grabbing the final wild card!
  5. Anybody else not really minding if the Jays miss the playoffs this year? haha If they get in, it's unlikely they'll go on a magical run in October. Imagine if the Orioles got a wild card instead of the Jays? Would Atkins be axed from the embarrassment of missing the playoffs in a year where there's an extra wild card spot ... and the Jays have been settled all season in Toronto ... and they've already scapegoated Charlie ... and after all of the "next level" and "this year you will see the movie" hype? Not to mention, I'm sure they were really hoping for Blue Jays fever to be running wild so they can jack up ticket prices substantially to help pay for Rogers Centre renovations.
  6. Tix now gone. Thanks.
  7. Awesome pair available for Wed. vs. Seattle. Premium Dugout, Sec. 120 (a few meters away from Geddy Lee's seats.) PM me. Cheers.
  8. I might have a few mid-week games this season that I can't attend. Awesome pair. Very close to the field. Reasonable price. If you live in the GTA and can get down to a Jays game on short notice (like the day before) then send me a pm, and I'll reach out to you if a game becomes available. Cheers
  9. I'd appreciate a recommendation as well.
  10. could be brutal travel-wise ... say, Atlanta vs Seattle or Toronto vs San Diego.
  11. Hi Albert.
  12. I'd guess that the Jays window is 4 more years. Shapiro has 4 years left on his contract, and it's doubtful he'll be here longer with his pal Edward's messy situation at Rogers plus Mark's own ambition to possibly be baseball commissioner. Aligns nicely with Vladdy & Bo who can't be free agents until 2026. Prediction: If the Jays have not had playoff success going into the last couple of years of Shapiro's contract, then he'll do what he criticized AA of doing: Really going all in because he won't be around much longer anyway (especially if Alex is successful in getting a flag flying forever in Atlanta haha.)
  13. I'd guess that they still want Charlie as manager because he remains their grateful puppet without probably any pushback. Helps also that he speaks Spanish and is cheap. Remember when Atkins publicly blamed Charlie for Vladdy resting on Victoria day? Oh wait, Atkins took partial blame for not explaining to Charlie "the importance of Victoria day" to Canadians. haha
  14. So we agree that the Orioles are historically horrible. And then I said that the Yankees and Red Sox have not been "great." Do you consider a team with a +78 or +41 run differential a great team?
  15. Yankees haven't been great this year. Red Sox haven't been great this year. O's are horrible.
  16. Yes! I think that the Yanks would lean towards playing the Sox at Fenway. Imagine the blasting they'd get from the NY media and their fans if they lost that game. haha
  17. Fun stuff! If I had to guess what will happen today, I'd predict scenario 4 (all teams win today, except NY.).
  18. Congratulations to AA for working for a division winning team for 7 consecutive seasons.
  19. so a below .500 team can make the playoffs ... last season the Rangers were 8th in the AL with a .481 PCT
  20. I loved Damo but he sure didn't like taking his Walks . . . PA: 4124 BA: .283 OBP: .309 Can you think of anybody else who had over 4000 career PAs with a BA of over .280 and a sub .310 OBP? haha
  21. Tony is my all time favourite Jay. RIP.
  22. Is this game on MLB.TV? I've had a subscription for the season but don't see any option to select tonight's game.
  23. 99 dingers away from Cooperstown . . . the countdown is on! If Shapiro is still around at the time (which isn't likely), would he honour Edwin on the Level of Excellence?
  24. Paid attendance or fans actually showing up? I think fans thru the turnstiles would've been less than 7.5 K, but it appears that the season ticket base is in the 9 K range now.
  25. I wish Edwin was still a Jay. Wouldn't have added many Wins, but still would be nice to have a very likeable slugger who is just 108 dingers away from 500 (and thus the Hall of Fame ) ... tho time ain't on his side.
