    ok, so check every manager's lineup from today to Sunday and they (other than Gibby) will use your logic and not sit out any regulars, right?

    you realize it's a 162 game season right? and that there's a game almost every day ... and that it's not a video game ... and that everyday guys have aches 'n pains and it's best for the team that they be rested occasionally, right?

    signing free agents isn't grocery shopping. Reyes wasn't choosing Toronto over Miami. And Shields wasn't choosing Toronto over San Diego.

    well, I don't think the Jays & O's will be making a deal anytime soon ... but, yeah, if there's a fit with other teams then great!

    yes, consistently horrible lineup constructions which has resulted in the lowest runs total in baseball!

    whatever way you slice it, it'll all come down to the last road trip of the season with 4 in Baltimore and 3 against TB (hopefully Tampa will be out of it by then.)

    It crossed my mind for a couple of seconds too ... but I think Jerry (at his age and with his years of service in the booth) would've just quit rather than quietly accept being disciplined.

    look, I want Goins in there under similar circumstances (as last night) but I also understand that it's really tough for a manager to be the first one to do it ... so maybe Bautista should have a little conversation with Reyes (amigo a amigo) to warm him up to the idea ...

    well, of course, the "voice of the Blue Jays" has been critical of Reyes. also, I can't recall an everyday starting shortstop in MLB (let alone a name like Reyes) ever being taken out late in a game for a defensive replacement (unless it's for reasons of rest) ... doesn't make it right ... but it would be unique.

    GO GET 'EM TOMORROW, JOSE!!! (but please think about volunteering to take yourself off the field if the Jays are leading late in a tight game)

    actually that's a very good point ... would be disappointing if they're electronic tickets for the world series.

    or start the game, and get a looong rain delay in the early innings, and Sale can't come back out.

    I may watch. Gotta root for the A.L. so i'll have tickets to 4 world series games in T.O. this Fall (instead of 3.)

    contains a few too many prayers to God (for my personal taste) but I got a better understanding of Dickey's constant "look of defeat" (as my wife calls it) that R.A. always seems to be sporting out there on the field.
