  1. But I'm taking the 190 lbs girl over Tara Reid all day long...
  2. This sounds great - why are you bringing your negativity to the party?
  3. OMG - I was going to ask if that's Tara Reid. She used to be so hot. no more fap fap fap'ing to that.
  4. Wow - I'm actually shocked by this news. I'm not sure I should be, but I am.....
  5. Romero's just there to help offset the huge contracts we're taking on. I'm probably shooting a little high by indicating the Phils eat the majority of Pap's contract......but if they don't eat a ton of his Contract, you could argue he's got negative trade value too. I think Sanchez/Castro for Hamels is in the ball park if we take Paps and his Contract off their hands.....now if only we could afford to do that).
  6. Sanchez, Castro and Romero for Hamels & Papelbon - Phils eat Pap's contract to the point he's only $5M per season. I'd be keeping Osuna...
  7. That's pure awesomeness. I didn't know they had a particular taste (although certainly types obviously do).
  8. I don't think he hit 86 MPH at all last year...he's Jamie Moyer now.
  9. Martin should be near the bottom of the lineup. The .400 OBP last year is a mirage. Reyes Jose E5 Donaldson Saunders Martin Smoak Travis Pompey Get your best hitters as many at bats as you can.
  10. Perhaps I shouldn't have read this thread in reverse order.....overreaction alert!
  11. Pillar is (errr should be) a very solid 4th OFer. Good defense, can play all 3 OF positions, runs well, hits lefties.....Nobody should be too upset that he's lined up to start in LF for a couple of weeks...this is exactly what a good 4th OFer does. I also expect Pillar to platoon with Saunders - especially early on when Saunders returns from the DL. That said - if he gets 500 at bats, he'll get grossly exposed (as do most 4th OFers). Fans should get used to him....lets hope he doesn't s*** the bed early on b/c he's the best option we have.
  12. The first time I read this, I read it as "20-45 is the window and then gravy & metabolism usually wreaks havoc on that body type". Then I actually laughed out loud - although....it kind of works too...you know that body type loves poutine.
  13. Buyer beware if you're looking long term.....if they have that body at a younger age (say 20-30 years old) - chances are they'll be a lot bigger by 40...Just like Fielder and Sandoval - those bodies break down over time... Fun to play with in the short term though
  14. TDottttttt - are you also looking forward to the Hooked on Phonics video you ordered? Dig from an old ESPN msg board reg.
  15. Danny Salazar to AAA. So much for Zach McAllister being this year's Wade Davis.
  16. O's are moving Gausman to the pen? Dat dumn
  17. Good news is - he's only a ML backup because he can catch Dickey...I suspect he'd prefer to stick with the organization in hopes that Martin can't catch Dickey and/or in the event Martin got hurt.
  18. I thought someone said he had options...you mean something I read on the internet could be wrong?
  19. Delabar to AAA is pretty shocking and disappointing news. We really needed him to rebound. Something seems fishy about this. And this bench we have is abysmal due to injuries and this god damn Navarro/Thole thing. AA needs resolve this nonsense. If we're keeping Tolleson as the utility infielder because he can be a backup OFer, then we're left with nobody who can play SS (Reyes can't play SS anymore for christ sakes). Send Thole to AAA and hope to heck Martin can catch Dickey and keep Goins up to play some defense. You don't spend $85M on a guy and then carry 2 backups for him....god this is stupid.
  20. I'd tend to agree with this. Plus he has a girly first name.
  21. I love .gifs. Would be nice if Sanchez could develop that kind of slider/cutter that Graveman has. It compliments the hard sinker so well (better than the big curveball). All 3 of Graveman's pitches start on the same plain - then all do something different.
  22. Danny Norris walked about 4 per 9 innings last year too....He isn't close to being a finished product either. Why don't we rip on him some more? because living in a hippy van makes him cool and likeable?
  23. Commanding your fastball and learning a new pitch seem like mutually exclusive events to me. I assume you mean if he's too stupid to learn how to throw strikes, he must be too stupid to learn how to hold a different grip on the ball? I think you meant to say he should be focusing his efforts on improving his fastball command/control. That said - wasn't the fact that he threw basically all fastballs in the majors the reason why he didn't walk as many as he did in the minors?
  24. This is true - but it's still very hard to comprehend.....I total get what HERPDERP is saying....then again, I used to be a huge White Sox fan back in the day and he may have scarred me for life. I will always bet on Uribe falling back to earth and being well below average as a starting 3rd baseman.
  25. Have you seen our 2nd base options?
