  1. It's not like he was pitching in Petco last year....Brewer's stadium is a launching pad too.
  2. I love how you downplay Stroman because he's never gotten through a full season - and then throw out how Wacha is great and is better than anyone in our rotation. The Dodgers have Scott Baker and Carlos Frías in their rotation right now. Is that the type of depth you're talking about? Listing 2 great pitchers and then referring to them as "depth" makes me wonder if you know what the definition of depth is...
  3. This isn't MLB 2015. Leaves LA with no CFer and EE or Gonzo as a bench bat. Obviously from the Jays perspective, that would be an awesome return....I mean how amazing would it to have any one of those 3? But it's just not happening. Dodgers need pitching with Ryu and McCarthy hurt (just like AA, the Zaidi is a piss poor GM who didn't sign multiple stud veteran FA pitchers to serve as their 6th and 7th starter).
  4. Wat??? Selfish? Did they not share their poutine with you at Harvey's or something?
  5. Said every GM in baseball. That's Captain Obvious - you can take a break now. Have a kitkat.
  6. Do you think the Cards GM and the Dodgers GM are terrible too because Wainwright and Ryu/McCarthy got hurt? Storman Hutch Dickey Buehrle Norris/Sanchez/Estrada That's the rotation AA put together. Care to tell me which rotations in baseball you consider to be good enough? Which ones didn't rely on unproven arms or aging veterans? Which ones had ample depth to deal with major injuries to their best pitchers? I'd love to see your list.
  7. AA also bought that Stroman voodoo doll and stabbed it in the knee!!! fire him!!
  8. Does anyone hate defense and/or baseball more than Hanley Ramirez?
  9. If we are sticking Valencia and Goins in LF - what about Smoak? The man needs some at bats but is glued to the pine with E5 and Jose at 1st and DH for the foreseeable future.
  10. Wasn't someone pumping his tires this spring?
  11. Agreed - get your best hitters more at bats. This is close to the "optimal" lineup that JFaS suggested...
  12. I'd still have Hoffman ranked above Castro.
  13. Why is it so difficult to realise that some fans were caught up in the hype and feel good stories re: Norris and his van this spring while overlooking the fact his command would likely hold him back from being an effective ML pitcher this year? It's a real thing too - which is evident when you see people talking about him "getting his control back" instead of saying "the control issues he's always had are really holding him back right now"....I guess kudos to the jays for selling it to the fans. That said - I've been flogging this horse for a bit too long and I will take you advise and shut'er down. Thanks for calling me out. I had a sip of the kool-aid myself, even if I thought the van stuff was stupid.
  14. Getting it back? He never really had it to start with. This was a glaring issue going into the season that everyone seemingly ignored because he had a cool beard and lived in a van.
  15. You're suggesting we deal Hoffman for 1/2 a year of Cueto (say a 4.6 WAR pitcher). We dealt 2 good prospects for a full season of Dickey at $5M coming off a 4.9 WAR season. And with Dickey - we had a much better chance of extending him (which we did). That's the comparison I'm making.
  16. As compared to trading Hoffman for 1/2 a year of Cueto? Are you too stupid to follow the context of the conversation?
  17. Something tell me we should be able to get someone under control for more than half a year if we were willing to deal Hoffman. See Hamels, Cole.
  18. If this is true - why do so many people on here continually bring up how bad the Dickey deal was? (the complaints re: Marlins deal should mainly relate to salary issues).
  19. Could this also be a move to save MLB service time?
  20. and his BABIP is just slightly below where it was on average in 2011-2013. Unless you expect him to maintain the massive spike in BB%, his OBP is going to drop back down to .320-.330.
  21. By high OBP do you mean .320ish he averaged from 2011 - 2013 before the complete anomaly of a season he had last year?
  22. put down the crack pipe sir.
  23. And you've completely written off the possibility that a 25 year old pitcher learns to be a more consistent? That's quite the world you live in sir.
  24. Are people blaming the Dodgers GM b/c Ryu and McCarthy or the Card's GM b/c Wainwright are/is hurt and they didn't sign a couple extra FA's this offseason to offset those potential loses? Of course they aren't b/c that's stupid. AA was planning on heading into the season with Stroman, Hutch, Dickey, Buehrle and one of Norris/Sanchez. As much as some/most don't like Dickey - that's a perfectly reasonable plan for a winning ball club. Under that scenario, he would have had Norris/Sanchez, Hendriks and Estrada as fall back options. Look around baseball - most good teams would have been happy with that setup - especially when you consider our dominate offense.
