    This makes no sense. Roids can still be the difference between Zaun having a career in the majors vs. being a failed minor league player who ends up mopping floors at the local high school...Alex Sanchez was a speed guy. Do I really need to explain how roids help you run faster and how blistering speed can make you a useful ML player? C'mon man.

    This is true. Pillar basically developed into what we all though Gose would be. I still remember 2-3 years ago I was talking with Tinnish and he raved at Gose's defense. Said he purposely plays out of position at times just to test the boundaries of his range. He still has a cannon of an arm....it's really baffling that his defense rates out below average.

    Good lord - giving Revere the most plate appearances in a lineup like that would be one of the dumbest decisions in ML history.

    Funny thing is, the 2013 and 2014 version of Martin is probably exactly what we should expect from Pillar moving forward. In 2015 Martin fetches a middle reliever (who's basically Delabar) and people getting paid to follow baseball are suggesting TiaWalker for Pillar... Craziness.

    Even if it is - Delgado is on the ring of excellence while Olerud was platooned, underappreciated and traded to the Mets for Robert f***ing Person....oh and the Jays paid $5M of Olerud's $6.5M contract. The best thing to come from it was trading Person to the Philly's for Paul Spoljaric... Olerud goes on to put up 18.3 WAR in 3 seasons for the Mets. It's pretty shocking when you look back at it...

    I don't think Cito liked how Olerud wore a helmet in the field. Check that - I don't think anyone did. Looked funny. It's kind of ironic how Olerud had a better career than Delgado

    If you follow Pillar you'll notice he has massive hot and cold streaks. He was hot at the end of the season and into the playoffs...

    Exactly. Take the money up front, invest it and watch it grow. Compounding returns are awesome.
