  1. I don't know for sure, but here's a guess: 1. Dickey, $10M 2. MB, $18M 3. Romero, $7.5M 4. Izturis, $3M 5. Thole, $1M 6. Navarro, $6M So, ~ $45M? Are Bill Caudil, Frank Thomas or BJ Ryan still under contract?
  2. 9 teams, and it's because it's a fun league and great team to cheer for. I don't wear mine everywhere, but I wear my Jays stuff everywhere. Is that as weird as f***?
  3. Would you guys trade Dickey+ for Colon? I know, ugh.
  4. But isn't that a good thing if he's on recallable waivers? We'd know who wants to trade. Here's something crazy, Dickey and Thole for Colon+
  5. Exactly, I don't even consider the rosters of teams in the AL East for trade purposes.
  6. You know, if the Twins were abysmal at this point in the year, I think Santana would have been a nice buy low candidate for us. But of course the Twins are looking at a playoff spot. Dammit.
  7. 4th outfielder with lots of playing time. I still think Pompey has a higher ceiling and I want him in CF starting soon. But I hope Bautista, despite his defensive decline is in RF for a few more years and LF for me is still Saunders spot. So, with band-aid Saunders in mind, and decline JB, Pillar as the 4th OF gets lots of time. I am overjoyed with Pillar this season and his defence has been fun to watch. If he manages to play all season, and keep his WAR between 2-3, then yeah, I would be prepared to offer him a FT spot. Make Saunders the 4th OF (he`s off the books in 2016 anyway, right)
  8. Totally. Great 4th outfielder. Plus defence and can steal bases off the bench, and be a late in game defensive replacement.
  9. Don't lose your s***, people, but Dickey needs to go to the 'pen. Call up Norris for his spot, and keep up Doubront. Wow, has this season sort of gone of the rails.
  10. I was thinking the exact same thing. He's been sooo solid for us since the trade. Thank God. Otherwise that trade is an absolute train wreck otherwise.
  11. Sorry, I *think* he is a good manager. Just my impression, and not backed up by any metrics. Better?
  12. Mike Scioscia is a very solid manager. I'd keep him over middling Dipoto every time, especially if there's a gun to my head.
  13. Yep, 100% agree. Last year's non-moves at the deadline were deflating to the fans, and it appears the team. Hamels brings you buzz, and a front-end starter for 2.5 years. And his contract is reasonable. That's golden. But I'll say again, I want to keep Hoffman. Sanchez and Norris?
  14. I think you will see an attempt and an utter cleanse of their MLB roster, and they will want to restock a dry farm system.
  15. You know, honestly, the way MB is pitching yet again, I am almost thinking we try to sign him after this season for another 2 years.
  16. That's not true. There will be blue chip principal players in any trade and a few B prospects. You will hardly ever see ONLY blue chip prospects traded for a top tier player. Feel free to prove me wrong.
  17. Hamels is the pitching equivalent of Donaldson. And we'd have him through 2019. AND the Orioles, Yanks and BoSox wouldn't get him.
  18. I think this is realistic. Maybe through in a Rasmussen or something, too. I
  19. Hamels would be our best starter, and his salary is essentially the same as MB's. I would trade anyone in the minors BUT Hoffman for him.
  20. I feel for the fans. When StroShow went show I was devastated. It'd feel like that.
  21. Oh man, I'd love Shields. And Kimbrel. Would that cost us EVERY single good propect? Hoffman, Norris, Boyd +? The Jays have really started to draft well, to the point where I have confidence in our org to replenish our farm after such a trade. It'd take 2-3 years but man, we'd have a good shot of playoffs for at least 2 years.
  22. Wow, I checked the standing, we're in a playoff spot! With like 5 other teams. I hope the race is tight all the way to the end (with the Jays coming through to win the division of course). Makes for some exciting baseball. Love it.
  23. Oh right. Makes sense. It must be hard on catchers to play 2 games in 20 hours.
  24. Ugh. Why would they do that? Set him up for success instead...with Martin.
