  1. Yep, I totally agree. Tulo would thrive a lot more in the 5th spot I am sure, and Revere is no slouch and let the NL in BA last year. Plus, he can stretch those hit into a two-baser because he's a stolen base threat. I like this idea a lot, until Travis is healthy (which may not happen by the sounds of it).
  2. It's way better than hearing 2-3 bandwagon jumper discuss the Jays in the lunch room. Trust me.
  3. Marcus Semien. He puts the "i" in semen.
  4. 2011 Verlander? Yes, yes I do. #timemachine
  5. I'm just thankful it's a leg injury and not an arm injury. Although Ricky Romero would surely disagree.
  6. Wow, 90% for playoffs. I've wanted exciting, meaningful ball in September forever. Now, it looks like it might finally happen!
  7. If the Jays sucked this year I'd be for a salary cap. Because they have a chance for playoffs this year I currently say, meh, it's okay for now.
  8. Seriously, that doesn't seem like an improbability. But then, the Jays had loaded bases something like 154 times at Yankee stadium over the course of the last 40 years and Smoak was the first Jay to hit a grand slam. Numbers are funny.
  9. Cola has resting sloth face. With Revere's struggles it would have been nice to have Danny V on the team right now. I actually, and no I am not kidding, met one of Danny V's high school baseball coaches on a vacation with my family in Hawaii. He talked to me because I had my Dickey shirt on (hee hee). Anyway, we started talking about Valencia and this retired coach said that Danny was the nicest kid ever, and that his son and Danny are still good friends. So, that not may be great insider information, but I would tend to be on the team Valencia for clubhouse positives.
  10. I'm here is a Boston Pizza lounge, and the place was packed with Blue Jays fans. And that's during the week in Saskatoon. People, the country is excited. This is getting big. Ratings, I am sure, are getting quite large.
  11. He gets more fastballs to hit, and generally more AB's leading off over the course of a season. I think it's awesome. And really the lead off guy is only guaranteed to lead off once a game.
  12. Price will command > $200M probably. Which teams in MLB can afford that? The Jays can I think. But who else? The number is low, very low. And if he has fun here, and success, I think we have a shot. Assuming the FO even want him.
  13. I don't think final third and terrible are accurate. I'm hoping final fourth and above-replacement are doable. We sign a guy like Price because he will provide tons a fWAR while he is still in his halcyon period. And he's a big name that will, hopefully, help draw other big names. And, with Price, for at least 2-3 years you have that ace to rely one, AND he seems like a team guy, too.
  14. Goins can be a defensive sub for years. He's solid and since July 3rd his tweak in batting mechanics has allowed him to have some timely hitting. He's a valuable piece going forward.
  15. Travis's fWAR is amazing. I like having Pennington on staff giving Travis as much time as he needs to heal properly to help us down the stretch. Trading Gose for Travis may be one of the best trades AA has made.
  16. In a close game, I mean within 2-3 runs, I don't want him even standing up in the 'pen for a bathroom break.
  17. 7-years is crazy, but a 6-year deal makes more sense, with the realization that the last couple will be like Dave Stieb's last couple of years.
  18. I think Price might agree to a 6-year deal, honestly. If he enjoys his time in TO, and we do something in October, I think we have as much chance as any team to land him, unless Moneybags Dodgers decide to go batshit and offer him a 10-year deal for $300M or something. Which may happen if Greinke leaves.
  19. I totally agree. And we may have had the time and resources to pick up a rental to add two starters to the mix, and displace erratic Hutchinson.
  20. He's pitching amazingly. Was his last bad outing in early June? Maybe May? Right now, *if* we make playoffs (lots of ball yet) I'd have him second in the rotation, before MB. It's nice we have a relatively cheap $12M option on him for 2016. Incidentally, Dickey's ERA is finally under 4.00 (it's 3.93).
  21. Oh boy. So, where would you plan the WS parade route?
  22. Speaking of glass and talented pitchers, where's Josh Johnson these days?
  23. Your post to thanks ratio is not awesome.
  24. The fact that you did this really sucks. Holy, why not just order a heaping helping of bad luck from a f***ing catalogue.
  25. I'd be okay with that, now that we have Revere long term, as long as there was some salary relief. I don't think the Jays make this move unless there is salary relief. Like $5M a year after 2014. OTOH, Stroman *may* be able to replace Hutch in the rotation come September, and he should be as good as Shields, since he is not coming back from arm problems.
