    MLB has contingencies in place to allow the Blue Jays to be subsidized to cover the exchange rate differential. The issue is that Paul Beeston turned the money down a number of years ago. We might have to go back hat in hand and ask for it again.

    Great pitcher and an even better human being. Guys like Archer don't have to do anything, but he chooses to speak to kids in a different country/city. Lots of respect from you on this.

    Say we trade some of our big prospects for those guys. Hoffman, Sanchez and many others. Like others have said, there is still a good chance we finish 4th. And then we have no prospects. We're in a very untenable situation. I think the least of all the evils is to call up Norris, get Sanchez healthy and call him up, and go with those guys (almost) no matter what. I would call up Castro as soon as I can, too. For the bullpen. MB will (chances are) have a crappy second half. He wears down and he gets lit up. I would trade him, and then call up Boyd and keep him in that rotation the rest of the season. See what we have. Lastly, I would consider DFA Dickey. I'm sure he can't be traded. So, for the rest of the season, I'd ride with the young guns...and a few stragglers. Hutchinson Sanchez Boyd Estrada Norris

    I love Travis, of course I don't want him gone. But I also don't want Reyes, but he ain't going anywhere. So, okay, you're suggesting we keep the status quo. How's that f***ing working? Or what are you suggesting?

    If those guys are hot I consider it, depending on the pitcher's ind record against those guys.

    Is AA awesome? No. But has he made some fantastic moves that only a ninja GM could? Yes. If we fire him, fine. But who takes over? Is there a GM star available at the moment? You take even the star GMs, and look at all their trades, I'll bet they still lose 40% of the time. FYSMC

    Man, I will be so angry and sad if AA trades this guy for now. You're right, he deserves some time up in MLB. He can replace anyone but MB right now, honestly. Well, Estrada is pitching really well. They rest can FYSMC.

    That's correct. Rogers will do just enough to give the appearance that they are in it to win it. But not enough to convince fans that really follow the Jays that they truly are.

    Yeah, enough already. We have a great offence we don't know slow Joe out there in LF. Until Saunders is healthy, which may never happen, I would much prefer Pompey out there. We *may* take a hit on offence, but I honestly don't think it would be too much.

    Assuming Reyes will not be moving, I wonder if there is any consideration to moving him to 2B and just throwing Goins to SS full time. It would sting, but we could trade Travis+ for something that will help us now. Reyes would not be so inaccurate with his throws for 2B, presumably, and Goins would save 30 runs with his defence the rest of the way. Also, I call up Pompey to play LF, period. What's happening out there is indefensible. #playonwords

    Yep, you're right. I tried, in vain, to cheer for the Orioles a couple years ago when I was getting really depressed, and I just can't. Loving the Blue Jays is like being in an abusive relationship you can't quit. I think anyone here pretty much feels the same way.

    I agree. It'd be hard, but for with Hamels for 2.5 years I'd be excited. And Stroman comes back next year. Sign one FA SP and we're good.

    He asked how much and who are coming off the books next year. I just answered what he asked. I get that there are raises.

    Is he great in LF? No. But he's still providing great offence. His defence there is better than Cola's. He's what we have when facing certain pitching and until Saunders is healthy...if that ever happens.
