  1. It is great to see that Jose Reyes is earning his salary. JOSE DOES NOT SUCK! (although I wouldn't have said it a week ago). I wonder if a bit of criticism helped Reyes get his head back in the game?
  2. It is good to see Goins getting some recognition for his solid defense. Although I find the WAR stat to be over complex for baseball, here are some interesting stats for Goins from http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/30636/ryan-goins WAR (batting) +0.8 DWAR (fielding) +0.9 I would expect his real defensive contribution to greater than 0.9. For this particular stat I tend to believe the saying: "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."
  3. Unfortunately, there is a serious problem with this way of thinking. The Blue Jays management seems to follow this rationale, that offense is the most important quality in a player and defense is secondary. Offense isn't the problem for the Blue Jays, it is the defense. Ryan Goins is playing because Gibbons knows that he saves runs on defense.
  4. This just isn't reality. Jose Reyes turns almost every play into a suspense as to rather he will mess it up one way or another. Although there are many Goins haters on this forum, Goins is a very talented SS, much better on the field than Reyes.
  5. Does anyone know the stats for the total runs scored by the Blue Jays versus total runs allowed when Reyes starts a game this season? (including earned and unearned runs) It would be interesting to compare it with the same stats for when he doesn't start.
  6. Doesn't he have 32 RBI's?
  7. Same old Blue Jays. I need to take a break from watching this team.
  8. Can you imagine Goins making the mistakes that Reyes keeps making? He would be sent to AA and never be heard of again! Put Goins at SS when Travis returns (or even sooner). Juts give Reyes away to some other team.
  9. A lot of peeved off forum posters. Blame the Blue Jays. They have disappointed too often the past several years.
  10. Osuna wasn't the problem out there. He should of had 2 more outs. That is how poor defense makes pitchers look bad.
  11. That is what happens when all the management's focus is on offense. That might not be an error but Colobella should of had that.
  12. I guess the next headshaker will be seeing Loop pitching the 8th.
  13. What a surprise, another Reyes error. Goins would have made that as a routine groundball.
  14. It took a single, home run, double and walk to score 1 run.
  15. Donaldson and Bautista will help people forget about the Reyes base running mistake. I wonder if Bautista got to 2nd quicker than Reyes (time wise)?
  16. I like how Martin always looks angry. If Pillar could just emulate that Martin look then people would take him more seriously even when he strikes out.
  17. Agreed, the Blue Jays are certainly the underdog at this point! Especially with a man now on first.
  18. If the Blue Jays lose this series then I think that it will be indicative of what will come for this season
  19. I thought 4 - 1 was a comfortable lead. I should have known better
