  1. Pillar seems to think that CF is his no matter what! Or so his hitting lately might indicate.
  2. A couple runs here, a run there, a run there and before you know it they will have 8 or 9 runs in the game. Those little runs add up!
  3. Is Edwin gaining weight? How could Edwin not reach base on that? But he has 32 RBIs this year so I can't complain too much.
  4. I guess you will be happy when the Blue Jays lead the AL in runs scored but finish out of the playoffs, again!
  5. In my opinion, Goins over the past few weeks has shown that he is an everyday player. He keeps improving on his hitting. If he keeps it up then even the Goins haters will have to start cheering for him.
  6. It seems like we are watching different ball players. To me Carrera has been a good find.
  7. I have watched the Blue Jays enough to know this isn't reality. I have seen Blue Jays miss/throw away routine plays to blow sure wins too many times in the past.
  8. He is gaining experience everyday so his career stats don't mean much to me.
  9. I don't see how you can group them together when Goins gets a hit?
  10. I would rather have Navarro play some DH and be the back up catcher and see Thole sent down to AAA. Goins needs to stay on the Blue Jays. His at-bats are improving and he is an excellent defensive player. When a routine ball is hit to him he makes the play and can also make the highlight plays. I wish the Jays would go with Goins at SS and Travis at 2B. Considering how often Reyes is injured, that is quite likely.
  11. I was a NL fan for so many years as an Expo fan, that it is tough to watch the Blue Jays play. It seems that offense is all that is important to many fans of the Blue Jays. I would rather watch the Blue Jays with Ryan Goins at SS than watch the Blue Jays with a big offensive, average fielding SS get lots of runs and lose 10 - 9. On the other hand, watching Pillar play a decent CF and look terrible at the plate is starting to sicken me. In my opinion, watching a good fielding team that helps a pitcher achieve a low ERA is just as rewarding as watching the Blue Jays lead in runs per games but play under 0.500 winning percentage.
  12. The Twins showed how relievers are intended to perform.
  13. This is crazy commentary. It IS about getting hits even at the bottom of the lineup.
  14. At least Goins made contact, Pillar swung at a ball a foot inside (couldn't he see how far off the plate that would be?). Even worse, Pillar has a big smile after such a terrible swing.
  15. I believe that was sarcasm since I had actually forgotten about Devon Travis coming back in early June. Devon Travis seems like a good guy and real talent, so hopefully there will be room for both Travis and Goins on the Blue Jays. I can't see Goins replacing Travis, but I hope that Goins stays for his defensive abilities.
  16. I hope that Devon Travis is able to adapt as pitchers learn more about him. In his last 10 games he was batting .167 - http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=581527#gameType='R'&sectionType=career&statType=1&season=2015&level='MLB' . So I don't think the Blue Jays current troubles are because of Devon Travis not being in the lineup.
  17. Wouldn't it be better for Ryans Goins to go back to second base and then give Reyes a few games off at SS from time to time?
  18. LOOGY - "A left-handed specialist is sometimes called a LOOGY (or Lefty One-Out GuY)." (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-handed_specialist ). Thanks to Jimcanuck for a new baseball term that I hadn't heard before . Luckily, Aaron Loop had a decent outing today.
  19. But he is new in the outfield. Maybe after more experience he will be acceptable(?)
  20. If Aaron Loop has another bad outing then can he be sent to Buffalo?
  21. 2 and 22 when the Blue Jays score 4 runs or less. That is pitiful. Luckily they just got the 5th.
