  1. I like seeing Goins take charge in the field.
  2. Interesting information. I hope that they will re-sign Valencia, Cabrera, trade Reyes, keep Goins on the major league team, and just get rid of Francisco (he killed the team with his defence - watching him live at a game is a head-shaking experience, I just kept wondering how he became a major-leaguer)
  3. Reyes for some reason likes to make jumping throws, even when there isn't a player sliding into him. Is he bored with baseball and needs to spice up the game with the Hollywood antics? Maybe a lightning bolt will hit him and he will start positioning himself properly for his throws to 1st base. That would probably eliminate at least 1/3 - 1/2 of his errors. Goins, Goins, Goins. I thought last year that the Blue Jays found an every day good fielder in Goins and then they gave up on him after one month in 2014 for not hitting enough. The Blue Jays should have been more patient. I wish the Blue Jays weren't so focused on offence. They play a player like Francisco at 3rd (what a mistake, he can only catch a ball if it is hit directly to him) and they send Goins to the minors.
  4. I would guess it was about the low strike. As Bautista was leaving the batting box he was mouthing something probably at the umpire. The camera showed him enter the dugout and he continued to complain. It could be that Gibbons was just peeved about the constant complaining about balls and strikes. Although Bautista has a great eye at the plate, I don't know of any other player who complains as much about ball and strike calls as Bautista. I personally find to to be annoying when watching on TV or at a game.
  5. I think Francona was available when the Blue Jays hired Gibbons. I wish Toronto could have gotten him instead. Gibbons' move last night to pinch run for Goins was one of many bone-headed moves that he has made this year. You know a manager's decisions are bad when just about everyone watching on TV realizes immediately that it doesn't make any sense.
  6. I think Valencia is a bright spot on the Blue Jays team. He made several plays tonight with strong throws to 1st. It is too bad that Reyes looked like he was asleep on the infield.
  7. Absolutely terrible managing. I remember a couple months ago when Stroman was pitching a shut-out against the White Sox. He purposely pitched around a tough hitter and Gibbons pulled him out of the game. First pitch from McGowan was a 3 run home run and the Jays lost. To me that was a turning point to the season. How can a team overcome such decisions?
  8. Fans should boycott the Blue Jays for this. Management wants to use rookies instead of winning games. Is Gibbons making these terrible decisions or did Antropolis tell him to try out all the rookies instead of winning?
  9. Taking Goins out hurt the Jays. Gibbons has to go.
  10. As soon as I saw Francisco on the field I knew something bad would happen.
  11. Yeah Stroman, he can do it all.
  12. It seems as though management has decided that the season is over. I want to be positive but taking Goins, Edwin and Lind out ...
  13. That 32-9 record when the Blue Jays hit 2 or more home runs, is that really all that surprising? I think any team that hits 2 or more home runs in a game is going to win a large majority of those games.
  14. I think the Blue Jays need players like Goins who can play defence. It must be demoralizing to the pitchers to see so many miscues in the infield.
  15. Didn't Maddon lose his right to appeal when he lost the appeal of Edwin's homerun?
  16. Lawrie seems to be so tightly wound both physically and mentally that it leads to strains. If he can find a way to reduce some of that tension then maybe his injury-proneness will go away. (maybe Yoga would help)
  17. Sad, repeatedly the Jays get a man on 3rd with none out and can't score. I think the Jays would have an extra 10 wins this year if they could just play fundamental baseball.
  18. 6-3. Time to turn the game off.
  19. Got to give Rasmus points for anger management. He keeps getting called out on called strikes that are balls and he just walks to the dugout.
  20. I have grown to hate this Blue Jays team but I like Kawasaki - a player who wants to do well and help the team (not just pad his personal stats)
  21. I am going to make a bold prediction. Blue Jays will get the tying and go ahead runs on base in the 9th inning with none out, and not score a single run.
  22. Gose could run for Navarro if he was on the team, oh, Navarro struck out ... "Blue Jays are in the hunt" sure Buck sure
  23. Yeah, Cecil and Valencia didn't collide.
  24. "There is a lot of scoreboard watching going on ..." (just not in Toronto). Buck is doing his best to make it seem like the Jays still have a chance this year.
  25. The Blue Jays are "right back in it, trailing by 2 ...". Wasn't this a 1-0 Jays lead just an inning ago? LOL
