  1. I guess one could say that the Blue Jays have been lucky that the Red Sox couldn't catch the home runs since they made outs on everything else in play. I wonder if the Blue Jays can have a blowout win with a BABIP of 0.000.
  2. Take away the 4 home runs and Rodriguez pitched no hit ball. BABIP is 0.000 so far for the Blue Jays.
  3. Now the Blue Jays need to focus on adding on runs.
  4. When did Edwin's legs become so short and stubby.
  5. Interesting that the NESN broadcasters pointed out that Estrada has been tougher than Stroman. Basically that Estrada is the ace. I agree.
  6. If they get to the top of the 5th and it looks like rain then everyone should be swinging for the fences on anything close to the plate.
  7. Now the Blue Jays need to get through 5 innings before the rain can come back.
  8. Bobby Orr is at the game. I was a big Bruins fan when he played. As a kid I listened to the Bruins on the radio, while living in southern Nova Scotia.
  9. Good job by Estrada and the Blue Jays after the first 2 walks.
  10. I guess NESN delays their audio so they can take the f*** out after players hit weak pop ups.
  11. Boston audio isn't in sync with the SportsNet video feed.
  12. It looks like the rain has stopped for now. I have been looking forward to this final game of the series so it would have been a big disappointment if it was rained out.
  13. Game time is 1:35 PM, by the way - http://mlb.mlb.com/home . I was thinking that it was 1:10 PM.
  14. I am not entirely sure that Martin wasn't in contact with the runner's jersey before the runner touched the plate. Isn't it just necessary for the glove to touch the jersey?
  15. The Blue Jays would be better off with Travis hitting cleanup than Martin; Devon Travis has been having good at bats, whereas Martin is "hit and miss" (both figuratively and literally).
  16. That doesn't look conclusive to me. Although the runner touched the corner of the plate with his foot, it looks like Martin has the tag on him.
  17. Donaldson is in the lineup, but will there be a game with the rain in the Boston area. I can't say I agree with the lineup. Goins had a good game yesterday, so why take him out for Dominguez (at 3rd, and Barney switches back to SS) - I guess the Boston pitcher is a left-hander though.
  18. Barney played at 3rd yesterday with Goins at SS. I would prefer to keep that combination. Barney has been hitting well and Goins has shown signs of hitting to the opposite field more like he did last year; one of Goins' biggest problems this year has been repeatedly hitting into the shift by pulling groundballs.
  19. This might be related to Donaldson's sore thumb.
  20. It looks like there will be rain delays this afternoon in Boston - http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/boston-ma/02108/hourly-weather-forecast/348735?hour=9 Looking at the radar it appears as though it might pass if they wait long enough - http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/boston-ma/02108/weather-radar/348735 The Blue Jays and Red Sox might need several pitchers this afternoon.
  21. I thought they should have walked Ortiz not only because of his offensive numbers, but also because he is so slow on the bases, which makes him easier to get out in a double play.
  22. I just recalled how Smoak hit a ball down the right field line that was within a foot of being fair. There were two runners on at the time and it could have led to at least two more runs for the Blue Jays. That's baseball, it is a game of inches at times.
  23. I heard a great quote today on 590 The Fan, by Mohammad Ali and I looked it up online to make sure that I quoted it correctly: If a man looks at the world when he is 50 the same way he looked at it when he was 20 and it hasn’t changed, then be has wasted 30 years of his life - http://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/11/01/life-view/ This seems like such a great quote when I look back at my much simpler life over the past decades.
