  1. lol, Ellsbury just gifted us atleast a run there
  2. We don't know that, he might have been trying to be very professional until the last day. For a guy that went to Harvard and held a job like that this isn't a terrible moment for him like it would be for ordinary folks, he'll be in demand in and out of baseball. He might even have another job lined up already.
  3. oh wow, that's huge. Brooks was i believe was the #2 to Beeston.
  4. Ryan McBroom is a very old for his level 1B/DH only guy, Jansen is a guy that is often injured but when he plays puts up pretty awesome K to BB numbers at age appropriate numbers and has power potential. I don't see how you can be excited about the former and not the latter. And Objectively he has more potential than Richard "2.5% BB" Urena. THe only intriguing thing about Urena is those 15 homeruns in Lansing, but that appears to be an extreme HR/FB% thing, he hasn't demonstrated power anywhere else and the doubles rate don't show much.
  5. Tellez with his first of the season, man do we really need him to mash
  6. The pen is fine, Gibbons just lost his mind there
  7. f***ing Gibbons, first leaves Stroman against a lefty and then bring a in a guy who should be a ROOGY against another lefty
  8. Joe Kelly said he had the talent to win the Cy Young. Hahahahaha
  9. I think it's safe to say Goins lost whatever pitch recognition skills he briefly picked up last season
  10. 1 run, i'll take that given Stroman just completely lost his release point there
  11. Stroman's pitch selection is the same as it was in Tampa, but he's generating more swings and misses against Boston got some reason
  12. Has Pat Tabler ever said anything that was truly insightful?
  13. Kelly hasn't hit his spot two pitches in a row , we gotta rock this clown
  14. Tabler shoukd get the day off when Shulman does the play by play. Buck is tolerable as the color guy but he needs to talk less too
  15. I believe the pre-season projections had the Jays and Orioles separated by about 4 games, what other word would you use than marginally? edit: turns out it was 6 games, 77.5 vs 83.5, point still stands perfectly because it's not like we're talking about the difference between a 70 win team and a 90 win team. With them off to a 3-0 start, the projected finish has the Jays and Orioles finishing only 4 games apart.
  16. This doesn't make any sense at all. There is no extra value to be had by Price facing Toronto instead of Baltimore, it all evens out. Not to mention the Jays are only theoritically marginally better than the Orioles
  17. That's absurd. Toronto right now has a higher population and in many objective measures its a city on the rise unlike Chicago where population and property values have stagnated. That's unlike the urban revival trend in many other US cities that are experiencing the same things Toronto is. Even Americans don't think Chicago is that great, or else they'd moving there at greater numbers. There's always subjectivity to these things but there's many reasons to believe Toronto is a more desirable place to live than Chicago.
  18. on that last replay, yeah it looked like it gets out
  19. now Happ's getting squeezed on legit strikes
