    Mookie is leading the NL in OPS (1.020), fWAR (7.5), and wRC+ (174). The stolen base/batting average factor for Acuna, batting average for Freeman, and home run factor for Olson will probably factor in, but Betts should be the front runner right now. Also, he's looking to hit 40 homers from the leadoff spot, which as never been done in MLB history.

    Mookie has a very strong case to become only the second player in MLB history to win MVP in both leagues (Frank Robinson). Having his best offensive season since 2018.

    I mean at some point the conditioning staff needs to be questioned as to why these guys are so out of shape, which is likely affecting their performance. Why the players haven’t been held more fully accountable for their lack of commitment to fitness is questionable. If it was one guy that’d be one thing, but multiple? Vlad absolutely needs a kick in the ass like being sent to the minors.

    This team would be questioning very few things right now if Vlad was even midway between his current self and his 2021 self. There is talk about the bullpen/starting pitching, but the reality is that it's the offense that is forcing the pitching to be near perfect and probably magnifying errors that are expected even from a great pitching staff. Doesn't help that Springer has been a black hole for large stretches of the season either, but Vlad is the primary reason. Your best talents need to be your best talents. Gausman has been great, Berrios/Kikuchi being solid has helped with Manoah's fall from grace, Bassitt has no doubt been serviceable. Vlad is unacceptable.
