    Btw Bobby Witt Jr's stats the past couple of years are not terribly far off Trout's when he began his tear, weighed a little more towards defense than offense give or take. That guy is so damn good.

    He was 8th in wRC+ in the majors this year, not exactly the problem with the Mets. Him, Soto, and Lindor (who put up another 6+ fWAR season) were carrying that team.

    George Springer just put up the second best season of his career by fWAR with zero (well, negative actually) defensive contribution and, by a considerable margin, his best season by wRC+ (166) vs. 155 in 2019. He is third in MLB in wRC+ behind Judge and Ohtani. Finishes with a .309 average and a .959 OPS.

    That's not what you were saying though. No team is a bye in the playoffs. Cleveland's pitching is pretty good and they've been on a heater as of late.

    I don't know if I'd like to play Cleveland rn tbh. Also, turning point in that game was Fluharty K'ing Aranda (perhaps the best all-around hitter in their lineup) with the bases loaded.

    Judge probably locked up another 10+ fWAR season with that home run. Not many players have 3 or more of those.

    I still cannot understand how this management team has faith in Hoffman in the closing role after the last 4+ months of this guy. It's not like this is a small sample size of games we're dealing with here.

    Getting pretty sick, pretty quick of Vlad and Kirk, supposedly two of our best three hitters in terms of consistency, looking like pumpkins at the plate.

    I honestly wouldn't be opposed to have them share the MVP like in 1979 (although of course votes dictate that). Judge's offensive numbers are ungodly and the Yankees would be nowhere without him, but Raleigh is having a historical offensive season for catchers and combining that with plus defense. This is the closest MVP race I've seen.

    He's gonna be close to Judge in terms of fWAR anyways, give it to him. He's much better defensively despite Judge's crazy offensive numbers overall.
