    Quite a difference between Melky and Martinez. Melky is 30, still in prime has 4-5 good years left, everyday player. Martinez is 36 and strictly a bat. Can't play him everyday on turf. In a couple of years he will be done or near done...while that first round pick should be top part of farm system.

    I doubt this is true. JPA was a fringe player, can't see him being in any position to oust another player

    Most of that is because of Gomes. Which had nothing to do with the Dickey or Miami trades

    They already have dirt around the bases. Can't see it being major problem to Argos to put dirt between 1b-2b and 2b-3b. That is where most of travel is. How do they cover up the dirt now for football games?

    Escobar + Davis for Dickey + Thole + Nolin? Jays move Reyes to third, Lawrie to second. Makes a great defensive infield. Davis in the closer. KC makes up for losing Shields with Dickey, Nolin is a decent prospect.

    Sounds like Sanchez be closer next year as you guys make it sound like Happ, Dickey and Buehrle will be back. But Morrow, McGowan, Janssen, Santos likely gone

    I've seen this before....Look how good Snider looked in 2008, or Brett Lawrie in 2011. A few games in August and September doesn't speak much for future starting position. Most clubs are just playing out the string with AAAA players or veterans who can't wait for long season to be over
