  1. Bruh, we don't even have real grass.......
  2. You mean like Jose Bautista? Maybe he's David Ortiz... or more realistically he's got 2-3 more years before noticeable decline. Young starter who will likely only get even better > aging bat at a non premium position.
  3. He turns 33 in like a week. There is nothing attractive about trading a 22 year old starter who is already among the best pitchers in the game for a 33 year old first baseman.
  4. Michael Holmes was ranked 6th by BA in a "Top 10 Future Scouting Directors" list in 2012.
  5. Crosscheckers are high level scouts who are sent out to evaluate prospects that are recommended by area scouts. They see prospects all over the country and are tasked with comparing the prospects from the different regions that they evaluate. The national crosschecker is the one who will ultimately recommend high round caliber prospects to the Scouting Director, who will then go and evaluate those prospects in person.
  6. Pentecost was injured, therefore any comparison is completely pointless and literally stupid. He's had horrible injury luck, it happens. There are quite a few notable draft analysts who really liked Pentecost, his prospect status has been hurt by injuries and injuries alone.
  7. Check this Instagram; we've signed a couple guys. "Otto Lopez" signed for $70K. Login • Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Welcome back to Instagram. Sign in to check out what your friends, family & interests have been capturing & sharing around the world.
  8. Bo Bichette (playing LF): 2 for 5 with a double. Also had a hit off top pick Kyle Muller.
  9. The signing period lasts a full year, not just one day. We sign guys every year for 6 figures who never make any of these "July 2nd headlines" because they come after the initial wave of signings. I think that a lot of you are making quite rash conclusions.
  10. 19 year old Joel Espinal: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K
  11. Bo Bichette hit a grand slam. This kid is looking like the truth.
  12. BA just released their projections for all 30 teams. Anyone got access to the article?
  13. Bo Bichette 1 for 3 with a line drive double and two walks today. Kevin Vicuna was 2 for 5 with a double as well. Obeso 2 for 4 with two doubles. That GCL Jays team looks nice. Vicuna is really intriguing if his bat is coning around as shown to date.
  14. Francisco Rios is the Jays' representative at the Futures Game. Also on the roster are Joe Musgrove, Phil Bickford, and Jeff Hoffman.
  15. He's walked 7 batters in 53.2 innings pitched.
  16. GCL Jays (via Chris King):
  17. Because he's 17 years old. Are you serious? Baseball is a really hard sport.
  18. Cavan Biggio was 4 for 4 with two doubles last night for Vancouver.
  19. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisMLB 3m3 minutes ago 11th-rder Travis Hosterman signs w/@BlueJays, $400k ($300k vs slot). Florida HS LHP, projectable, feel for spin & throwing strikes @MLBDraft
  20. Jays announced all these guys as signed:
  21. Its virtually the same draft regime from before. We've selected a guy like Bichette before: Dwight Smith Jr. Averageish athlete with bloodlines who "has hit everywhere" and has defensive question marks....
  22. Law also mentioned that we were heavy on HS SS Gavin Lux from Wisconsin. He has him going #26 to the White Sox. The Dodgers are supposedly on him as well.
  23. Keith Law's third mock draft, released today:
  24. Not much different than its been here: "Moneyball" market approach in the past which has shifted towards a more upside-driven approach in recent years since Shapiro has been promoted to President.
