  1. Statcast in Dunedin needs to be recalibrated, that might’ve went into the basketball court of the elementary school.
  2. Fabian has regained his stock quite a bit. The college hitting pool is so thin I have doubts he gets to 19 given he was arguably a top 5 talent pre-season. I’m guessing he’ll land around pick 7-15. I think they’re going prep bat or best arm available, but in terms of college bat there’s guys like Del Castillo, Tresh, Wilson, Binelas. The prep group is so much more interesting at this pick range: Henry Ford, Joshua Baez, James Wood, Benny Montgomery, Isaac Pacheco, Will Taylor, Peyton Stovall College & prep arms: Hoglund (TJS), Hill, Bachman, Wicks, Chandler, Painter, Petty, Hartle, Cusick,
  3. It’s mostly due to bad luck but it’s a problem league wide. Pitchers are just especially vulnerable given how unnatural it is to hurl a 90 MPH object. And you’re right that there’s a lot of focus on throwing harder now rather than learning to control pitches, sequencing and execution. There’s a huge mental aspect of pitching that doesn’t get recognized in an era where people focus on spin rates, whiffs, and strikeouts. I love seeing guys that throw low 90s and carve up batters like Ryu and Greinke.
  4. Which location is this? I’ll stay far away from it. Sounds nothing like the Five Guys I’ve been to.
  5. Just in case anyone is interested, MLB.tv discount is on: https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-tv-2021-sale
  6. Blue Jays have one of the toughest schedules in baseball to start the season. It’ll be interesting to see what crooked numbers they put up when they play lesser teams and more games at home. Don’t give up on Gurriel just yet.
  7. Gurriel’s always been super streaky and this isn’t his first time in a slump, it’s more of a plate approach thing with him. He hasn’t looked quite right since his covid stint. There’s too much talent there to suddenly turn pumpkin over an offseason.
  8. Five Guys hands down for me, fresh off the grill.
  9. Nate has the higher ceiling, but I've been pumping the tires on the Alek Manoah bandwagon for a very long time both on the forum and the podcast since he was drafted. Hoping both of them will pitch for us this year, we need them if we're going to compete.
