  1. His groundout was 99.9 mph EV. His first was 111.8 mph. Keep hitting like that it’ll drop eventually
  2. Interesting they went with Pannone instead of Gaviglio
  3. Vladdy’s GDP 111.8 mph exit velocity
  4. He’s batting .323/.353/.500 right now but his first three season were not so great. Still young though
  5. I mean it’s the White Sox, you never know.
  6. Gurriel’s had 13 games between 2B/SS and had 1 error so far on Apr 30, which was a fielding error at 2B not throwing. Hasn’t heard or seen any bad things about Gurriel’s arm since he got sent down. He’s had 3 games in LF so they’re serious about giving him reps there.

  8. For those that missed it, the Bisons lit up Touki Toussaint this afternoon for a 7-2 victory. He left with 4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K. ERA 7.11 Jonathan Davis with his 4th homer this season went 1/3, HR, 3 BB, 2 R, 2 RBI Gurriel played LF again, went 1/5 got his 22nd RBI in 20 games Biggio 1/4, 2B, BB, RBI, also contemplating a “call me up” sign stapled to his back. Fields also had 3 walks, and Guillotte had 3 hits including a double, stole a base for good measure. Jordan Romano looked better from the bullpen, 2.0 IP 0 H, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB ERA down to 6.87 His three starts in Buffalo were not the best. 4.0 IP 9 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 K (2 HR) 4.0 IP 3 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K (1 HR) 2.1 IP 4 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K (1 HR)
  9. Thanks I really appreciate it. I’ve been lurking this board for ages. Been a Raptors fan since 2002. Really got into the Blue Jays in 2013/2014-ish. These days I’m just spending a lot of time following Blue Jays and their prospects. Like stats/numbers stuff. Also have a little knowledge on computer stuff/web design. Not highly technical though.
  10. Sure I could help out a bit if you guys are recruiting and need some content.
  11. I'll just leave this here. A couple of our double-A bats have heated up after a slow start to the season. Santiago Espinal (From Steve Pearce trade) He had a 9 game hitting streak starting April 13, broke the streak on Apr 25th, and went on another 9 game hitting streak April 27. Dude has been on fire playing mostly middle infield (SS/2B), since the start of his streak till today he's hitting .329/.400/.447, OPS .847 Collecting 28 H, 8 XBH, 10 R, 17 RBI, 3 SB, 9 BB/ 20 K in 22 games. If this keeps up for another two months I expect him to join Bichette in Buffalo after Biggio gets called up. Forrest Wall (from Seunghwan Oh trade) Since his 3 hit game on April 11, he's been hitting .293/.420/.439, OPS .859 while mostly playing CF. Including today, he's collected 24 H, 9 XBH, 13 R, 7 RBI, 4 SB, 15 BB/17 K in 24 games. Wall always had good foot speed, and he's toned down that strikeout to walk ratio, where last year he had 135 K/53 BB spread between 3 affiliates in A+/AA. Brock Lundquist (6th round in 2017 draft) He had an abysmal start in his first 12 games, hitting .111/.184/.111, OPS .295 with only 5 hits, 0 for extra bases. They expected a little bit more from Lundquist when they batted him middle of the order to start the season, especially the power department. But he basically scuffled at the plate for 19 strikeouts and 3 walks during that time. Things have turned around for him since the doubleheader on April 23 where he hit his first double-A dinger. In 16 games since, he's hit .306/.443/.510, OPS .953 Since his rough start, he's collected 15 hits, 7 XBH, 9 RBI, 7 R, 12 BB/ 14 K in 61 PA. He's a potential corner OF bat.. not a tremendous power hitter like Chad Spanberger or even Ryan Noda, but the slugging has re-surged a bit looking more similar to his solid Dunedin numbers where he had an OPS of .884 in 204 PA. Now we're just waiting for Kevin Smith and Chad Spanberger to figure things out in double-A. But overall the Fisher Cats offence has looked a little bit better. Their rotation continues to be pretty good, especially now with Nate Pearson joining the crew of Patrick Murphy, Andrew Sopko, Yennsy Diaz, Zach Logue, and Hector Perez (?).
  12. He also lost 10 lbs since the oblique injury so I’m guessing 240-250lbs
  13. He’s looking pretty good
  14. Looks like Maximo Acosta is taken https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2019-international-prospects-to-watch-version-20/ I couldn't find any info on Yiddi Cappe. It’s still too early for any IFA mock list or extensive J2 coverage yet, usually starts in June.

  16. Yeah Ross confirmed awhile ago it’s for 2018 class and expires before July
  17. It’s near impossible to project these 16 year olds. You basically grab the best athlete, hope he has a good trainer, possibly bloodlines, and pray to the baseball deities. A lot of these kids get scouted since they were 14 yrs old, and every scout is looking for the next Juan Soto and Acuna. Sometimes it takes years of relationship development between the scouts and the kid’s family to make that signing happen. A lot of these families have future generations riding on their little ones to make the majors. Regarding Rikelvin De Castro, he was briefly mentioned somewhere a few months back. It’s good to know he’s showing flashes as a plus defender. Most position players start off at SS, CF, or catcher so "considered one of the best fielders at any position in this year's class" is some pretty high praise. Still, it’s a little strange to see we’re only connected to one notable guy. Edit: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2019-international-prospects-to-watch-version-20/ Ben Badler mentioned him back on February 12, 2019 For those that wanna take a quick look at him: Looks like we still have @4 mill to spend, interesting to see what other names will be in play after the draft when more focus shifts to July 2.
  18. Eh.. Certainly doesn’t hurt
  19. We were terrible defensively last year, in pretty much every metric measured. But so far we’re actually a pretty competent defensive team. I guess it helps to actually have a shortstop this year, especially one with two legs and Teoscar not being a complete liability.
  20. He seems fine to me, I guess there’s some prejudice cuz of his size as bat first catchers with that type of frame often end up at 1B. He’s just starting to appear on people’s radars but I think he’ll do great in Dunedin.
