  1. Are we sure Charlie Montoyo isn’t a double agent? His decisions are sometimes questionable, but it’s even worst against the Rays.
  2. This is Charlie's retaliation for not letting him play Joe Panik.
  3. Johnny Cueto and Whit Merrifield are rumored to be available. Also David Fletcher would be intriguing, exactly the type of hitter we don’t have in this lineup. How much would you guys pay for Lindor?
  4. Yeah and we went from lowest velo BP in baseball to: Giles: 96-98 MPH Romano: 96-99 MPH Bass: 94-96 MPH Anthony Kay: 94-97 MPH (L) Borucki: 93-97 MPH (L) Hatch: 94-96 MPH AJ Cole: 93-96 MPH Font: 95-97 MPH Dolis: 94-96 MPH Yamaguchi: 91-94 MPH Waguespack: 92-95 MPH Merryweather: 95-98 MPH There’s a mix of guys with ridiculous sliders (Giles, Romano, Cole, Merryweather), good changeups (Borucki, Hatch), splitters (Bass, Yama, Dolis), curveballs (Kay, Font), Cutters (Borucki, Waguespack)
  5. This needs to be changed.: And please guys none of that shooting stuff this time around, at least wait till AFTER the parade.
  6. It would be hilarious if the Blue Jays acquired Plesac and Clevinger at the deadline, then signed Trevor Bauer in the offseason.
  7. .317 OBP is far from the worst for a catcher, the sample is still too small. Hitting comes in streaks, Grichuk looked like poop 10 days ago.
  8. The six Blue Jays starters are 4-3 collectively. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/TOR/2020.shtml
  9. I don’t wanna give Gibby too much credit and sound biased, I’ll go with 22-1.
  10. https://i.ibb.co/3vNB4DX/2-A179-B7-D-4262-4-FC2-8526-7-B1-FE38881-D7.jpg Offense has turned a corner since last week. Grichuk, Biggio, Shaw, Tellez made significant leaps in wRC+ from the past two series.
  11. I have to bump up Romano after my 30 second google searches. Merryweather also looks cooler on the mound than his mug shots suggests
  12. Top 5 Handsome Blue Jays rankings: 1. Randal Grichuk 2. Bo Bichette 3. Jordan Romano 4. Julian Merryweather 5. Thomas Hatch Go!
  13. Bronze statue on Yonge and Bloor, SW corner.
  14. Charlie’s tactics are questionable, but the players seem to get along with him. It’s easy to look good when the players are heating up. It’s easy to look terrible when team is cold and every little nit pick can cost the game due to low margins for error. He’s definitely lost us a few games this season, but nothing we can do about it now. He’s not going anywhere this season. I just want him to be more firm with the umps when they make questionable calls, at least stand up for your players. He looks soft as cashmere out there just nodding to the umps for everything. I miss that about Gibby. He doesn’t have to blow a tire every bad call, but at least act like he cares about the game and trying to win. Montoyo also tolerates too much BS from our young players making mistakes, guys need to be held more accountable for stupid little league errors. Clearly it’s a young team so growing pains will be frequent, but those base running decisions and fielding errors can’t be acceptable in the MLB (e.g. Teoscar dropped the ball and cost the team runs). And it’s not like once or twice a week, it’s Every single game.
  15. This could be good for Anthony Alford, a team that picks him up will likely have more opportunities for him to play like the Orioles or Marlins. Maybe even the Red Sox or Yankees. He has a lot of tools, it just couldn’t manifest here. With Grichuk, Teoscar, and Gurriel all heating up there’s no chance for him to be more than just a pinch runner. Great guy & I wish him all the best.
  16. For those that missed his debut, Merryweather had a 97-98 MPH FB with multiple secondaries. Flashed a nice 85-87 MPH slider, curveball and changeup.
  17. I’ve been pumping Biggio’s tires since before his debut. Him batting leadoff has definitely worked well in this small sample, they’ve never tried it down in the minors as Bichette and Davis were the leadoff guys. He came to the plate in some crucial ABs these past few days.
  18. Spanky rejoice, just in time for your championship run.
  19. Great doubleheader today. 7th seed here we come.
  20. Realmuto is too fast
  21. Kay did just fine. Cole will get it done.
  22. Yama is good in low leverage, that was always supposed to be his role.
