    LOL Manny Machado plays the game "the right way" by throwing bats at people and having a hissy fit over getting tagged? If this is actually you and not some other troll how can anybody say at any point that "Graveman would be helping them more than Donaldson". My lord that was the dumbest baseball comment of all time.

    I think it has to due that it is Jose Bautista that is getting punched - the one who is universally disliked by opposing players, umpires and fan bases all around baseball. I don't see it as others defending him, more that is retribution that was long time coming.

    I believe the incompetent umpires feel that way too. Umpires are supposed to intervene when a scrum happens. This time the ump watched Odor clock Bautista and instead of breaking them up he just walked away as soon as the punch was landed. I thought that was VERY strange behavior from the ump. The ump threw Bautista to the wolves, luckily Beltre stepped in. They don't like him either it seems.

    What is overlooked in this situation is Bautista's selfishness. This team can't afford giving free outs and down by a run in the 8th and Bautista feels he needs to violate the slide rule to get retribution on a player that had nothing to do with the situation leading up to it. Also, this series with Dale Scott and his crew of incompetents was just another gong show in the umpiring world of Major League Baseball. The umpiring IMO has never been worse. They are so bad at their jobs.

Orioles fans and others around the league hate him for other reasons that isn't about the bat flip...constant complaining of the strike zone, posturing, showing up umps, perceived selfishness ...it can wear on you if you are not blinded by the colors of your own team....

    I don't think anyone but a homer would think that Bautista didn't have this coming. ...and it's not entirely about the bat flip either....it's the constant complaining, posturing and the "me first" type behavior that we have all seen throughout the years. Don't forgot that slide cost the Jays an out there...down by a run. As a Jays fan I can totally see why Orioles Hangout and Rangers fans are taking so MUCH pleasure in the schadenfreude.
