  1. Keep it close and we'll at least see the heart of the order in the 9th.
  2. I'd have taken that single in the 8th of last night's game.
  3. JD didn't even look mad. Maybe he got fooled and knew it.
  4. How can so much talent continue to not even get BABIP trash in their favour?
  5. Does he actually do this, though? You've got to remember some of the people criticizing are probably being ridiculous.
  6. Wow, this lineup is poison right now. Every good offensive game so far has been a blip.
  7. One bottom feeder trolls some vague info and the scavengers just pick it up and swim with it.
  8. Absolutely. This is kind of why this loss stings so hard. The Rangers goofed as hard as I've seen there and the Jays still couldn't muster up a win despite having the ball placed nicely on a tee for them in the 8th.
  9. This idiotic stat is exacerbated by how good the offense is. They lose more 1-run games than they win because of their ability to blow up the other team's staff. Wins are usually by multiple runs rather than by 1, which is how every fan should want it. The 1-run losses are all that remain.
  10. I stopped to think what Gibby did wrong and I can really only think of one: -Pinch hitting Zeke instead of saving him as a runner. He still had Martin and Dominguez on the bench, and unless he wanted to burn Saunders he was going to lose Zeke by using him in the catcher's hitting spot. Pretty short sighted and, honestly, kind of terrible. May have been a huge factor if he could have run in the 8th for Saunders. I don't mind him not bunting with Goins because... Goins sucks and can't bunt. When he did bunt in the 9th, he almost cost two outs. Dude is useless at the plate and his glove isn't a good enough justification for keeping him in the lineup. Barney is almost equal defensively, so might as well let him see if he can do something with the bat. This loss is on the team, though, as most other losses are. The offense was at its nadir today. No way should Dyson have been able to wriggle out of that situation with a lead facing four of the league's scariest hitters and fewer than two outs.
  11. Yeah, but no way should he have been the deciding factor. The Jays' hitters are indefensibly bad right now.
  12. It's almost surprising how many new ways they can find to f*** things up. Mazara made a great throw, but holy s*** this team needs to start hitting with some authority. This one is somehow worse than the first game against the White Sox.
  13. f*** how am I not surprised?
  14. He was the best available bat off the bench for Thole. Wow, this team is f***ing garbage right now. Unwatchable.
  15. How is negative value fine?
  16. Goins' bat hurts more than his glove helps at this point. No reason to not give an equally good defender a shot (Barney).
  17. This one might be my cracking point too.
  18. Rangers literally gave a run back. Gotta take this win.
  19. Ooh Zeke. Such bench. Much talent.
  20. Me too. I didn't know wave-hands meant no runs. Probably because I've never seen that happen.
  21. In fairness to Dickey, the inning started on a whiffle ball squibber.
  22. Gibby going to let this turn into a loss.
  23. There we go. And there's the obligatory free run.
  24. Oh god. Buck is going to rant about shifts now.
