  1. Sanchez is going to need to be perfect/lucky again because JD, JB, and EE can't square up Cesar Ramos.
  2. This is the most hittable guy they'll see today and he's making them look bad.
  3. Sounds like Buck knows how to have a time.
  4. Is there a mediocre pitcher in the AL that this team hasn't made look good yet?
  5. I'd make a joke about you always thinking the sky is falling but it literally just hailed outside my window on May 15th. End times.
  6. Not sure if it's an actual change but he seems to be swinging earlier in counts and more frequently. Small sample, but I've noticed I haven't been annoyed at watching him let goodies go by. I did miss yesterday's game until the 9th, though, so. Could still all be circumstantial. In fairness, that walk-off hit last week would have been an easy double if it hadn't ended the game. That's a thing, right?

The Rangers evened the series Saturday night with a 6-5 walk-off win in 10 innings. The Blue Jays won three of four games in Toronto earlier this month. • Rangers outfielder Ryan Rua started the last four games, only the third time since the beginning of the 2015 season that he has started four games in a row. He has started at four different positions -- left field, first base, right field and designated hitter -- more than any other Rangers player this season. • Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar was scratched from Saturday night's game against the Rangers because of chest soreness. It was not immediately clear whether he would be available for the series finale, but if he were unable to go, Ezequiel Carrera would likely get the start again. • Jose Bautista appeared in Game No. 1,000 for the Blue Jays on Saturday night. He was the 11th player in franchise history to reach that mark. Bautista entered Saturday ranked first in the American League and third in the Major Leagues with 30 walks. --- FWIW, this is the last meeting of the season between the Jays and Rangers. The Jays have already taken the season series but let's hope they can make it 5-2 instead of 4-3. The Jays are 3-2 on this roadtrip that started in San Francisco. Next series will be at home vs. the Tampa Bay Rays. --- MY FIRST GDT. Regardless of the game's outcome I want to see no fewer than two bannings and at least three warnings.
  8. This is weird. Venditte even prefers his left arm when given the choice.
  9. Well I definitely think the number of losses they are mounting will cost them down the road and that it's especially frustrating that a lot of them are due to incompetence than the quality of the other teams (errors, bullpen blowups, whole chunks of awful ABs by MVP-calibre hitters). It's definitely a concern. I just don't think this loss particularly stung. Every pen will give up runs and they can't be perfect because the starter gave up the game early. I can't also expect them to be perfect to compensate for other games they lost. Floyd looked good but made a bad pitch. I don't consider it a collapse the way other losses this year have been.
  10. What chances did they have? Baseball karma smiled on them in the ninth but that's really it. At best they were tied and still had to contend with the home team walk off advantage. And I'd say Estrada giving up a grand slam contributed more to the loss than Gavin Floyd surrendering a walk off. I mean yeah, a Drew f***ing Stubbs bomb is a stupid way to lose but that s*** happens in close games. A heartbreaker is that huge lead that evaporated against the White Sox, or Brock Holt following up JD's slam with one of his own, or that passed ball walk off against the O's. The Jays just made a valiant attempt tonight to come back and it turned a lethargic loss into an exciting one. Losses suck, but I just don't see how this was a heartbreaker. And man, with this 1-run game s***. If someone was on for Stubbs' HR, would the 2-run loss have stung less? How can anyone even hold the 1-run thing against the Jays in this situation? It's not like they were trailing 6-5 for half the game and couldn't muster up a run. A walk off win is usually decided by a run because... that's all the other team needs and there's no opportunity to respond. There are way too many tears spilled over this 1-run game meme.
  11. This was a heartbreaker? The Jays had no business being in the tenth inning. I mean it sucks that they lost but they had everything to gain and not much to lose.
  12. Just tuned in to watch back to backs of Tolleson. Holy s***?
  13. Tulo swinging early this game. Maybe a change in mindset?
  14. No comment on the shift there from Buck. It probably saved Texas a run.
  15. He even put some mustard on a deep flyout to CF.
  16. High, but I can't hate him for it. His offense looks like they have no idea what they're doing. 1 run in six should be on the way to a win.
  17. How are these guys 40 games in and still unable to line up good pitches?
  18. Totally. But the Rangers would probably... profar not.
