I don't disagree. I like Gibbons, but I still think he's been making some seriously iffy decisions with the BP. -
The positive PR starts immediately when something goes wrong. No one cares how frequently the awfulness is. It doesn't detract from the incompetence in this case. I'm also pretty sure McGowan has looked shaky a number of times, regardless of outcome.

Am I mistaken, or is Santos also on this team? Gibbons has been making so many questionable calls with the BP lately. Whether it's not going with the right guy or leaving a guy in too long when it's clear there are problems.

Ugh, it one thing when you get nickel and dimed, but you can't come in with two outs, no on, and then walk two and give up a no doubter. Jesus christ. Gibby needs to start recognizing red flags when his guys are on the mound.

The "Zim" thing the Rays are doing is nice. That guy was around for as long as I can remember watching.

Juan will still hit some big homers for us before the year is out. That's my gut instinct and probably AA's as well. That doesn't mean it's the best move to keep him either. On the other hand, AA knows September expansion will let him fill the roster as he likes, so Juan's spot on the team won't be so costly. Despite what the naysayers might say, September will probably be legitimate for this team, dire though things may look.

Devlin was trying to bring up the Oakland series with the usual over-exuberant tone he has and Tabby instantly recognized it and said "Let's not talk about that" as friendly as he could. The chittered back and forth for a second and then moved on.

In fairness to Devlin, it's tough to do play-by-play. Hell, it's difficult to broadcast at all, especially if you're calling an unfamiliar game.

I feel like Devlin heard Tabby or Zaun call Archer's fastball an "Exploding" fastball and he's going to keep using that term as if it were 4-seam or cut or whatever. He also gets way too excited when the Jays K, as if the team isn't struggling and the audience isn't frustrated.
