  1. Game time. Keep it together, Estrada. You too, Blue Jays Message Board.
  2. Gotta admit, most times I don't know what you're saying. This, however, is a quality burn.
  3. Let them then. The hard lock on roster personnel in the playoffs is arbitrary anyway.
  4. Yeah, I'll give Aaron Loup the benefit of the doubt and say something pretty bad is happening and that it's absolutely none of our business. MLB should have contingencies for stuff like this.
  5. Those are the headlines I read, or at least the ones I saw inferred. I didn't click any of them. I had a gut feeling none of them were true. I really doubted any player would have done that. No way other players care as much about logos and paraphernalia as the fans.
  6. The worst part if the Jays do in fact bow out in the ALCS will be the Woe's Us Toronto Sports Fans vomit we'll have to endure. Like the Jays going to the final four should be undercut because of the pathetic Maple Leafs. It was the same s*** the last two years after the Raptors got bounced. Sure it was s***** that they lost but just enjoy a competitive club without comparing them to other clubs in other sports. I seriously just cannot stand that sort of hand wringing.
  7. Well my point was never that the Blue Jays are a perfect team -- just an excellent one. Excellence can get you into the postseason but not necessarily through it. I'm also not really convinced that any weakness was exploited to put the Jays in this hole. They're mostly just getting beat by another skilled group of players. Mistakes have been made, yes, but none that have been so devastating. (And no, Goins botched play in Game 2 wasn't devastating - and even then, Goins' defence is a plus. You can't account for errors by your top dudes.)
  8. Although I don't necessarily agree, I'll grant you the third one. But the Blue Jays have everything else on your list. The Blue Jays are good enough to win the World Series. There is no "top" to get over. The playoffs comes down to who has the best or luckiest runs on a week-by-week basis. Were the Texas Rangers too s***** to make it to the second round? No, they weren't. They had a nightmare inning that cost them the season. There's nothing that can be done except work hard to build a 162-game calibre team that will win 92+ games and earn another shot at the post-season. That's it. There's no postseason formula. It doesn't exist. The game of baseball doesn't change with the stakes.
  9. I am really freaking glad I went to last night's game and not this one.
  10. Joe Buck comparing MLB teams to the Seattle Seahawks. Now Reynolds is running with it. Holy s***, Fox.
  11. Damn I really hate the Royals and their singles parade. How many groundballs get through the infield? A lot of them. What a bunch of lucky s***. Cue the worship of "being able to beat you". I mean, yeah the Royals get credit for having good ABs and making contact, but turfing enough balls like that isn't exactly a flawless way to win. It's not even a good way to win. It's the worship of a totally inefficient way to win that bugs me.
  12. Nope. The only celebrity I saw was the only celebrity I ever look for (and got to meet back in September): Geddy Lee
  13. Was at the game tonight. Second row behind the Jays dug out. Amazing atmosphere. I've never been to a playoff game before. I thought the place was going to burst after Tulo's home run (and then again after Tulo's ejection).
  14. Best wishes to Norris. And at the risk of coming off a bit overbearing, I think this might deserve its own thread rather than be wrapped up in a fairly cold discussion about his trade value and statistical projections.
  15. Sean Connery next time then. I don't know anymore with you women.
  16. Gonna be honest, You getting laid wouldn't cheer me up either.
  17. For the women: http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g336/tedjuegos/wink_zpsa394b736.gif
  18. I'm staying til the bitter end, but Joe Buck detracts from every major sporting event.
  19. This game actually pissed me off. My girlfriend and I are probably just going to stay in. (She's pretty pissed too.)
  20. The Fox crew is just sensation, sensation, sensation. Unlistenable.
  21. You've hit the peak. Plant the flag and let's see someone else try to beat it.
  22. Price doesn't s*** the bed, the broadcast stays dry.
  23. None, assuming the guy with the wallet isn't an idiot.
