  1. Didn't he pitch 2 innings last night with 2 innings today? He was also getting banged around last inning.
  2. If Pillar ever gets hooked on red bull we'll have Lawrie 2.0
  3. Man if he ever learns patience at the plate he could really be something.
  4. His 2014 xFIP of 3.82 doesn't reflect his 2015 6.67 ERA. He's not nearly as bad as what he's shown thus far.
  5. lol I don't want to think about it.
  6. You wrote very weak which implies the rotation wouldn't be much better at all with Stroman in it over Sanchez, which is just not true. It's like if I told you it's warm outside vs hot. Your choice of adjectives matter if you expect people to comprehend what you are saying. Regardless it doesn't change much and I can't be bothered trying to defend AA.
  7. People are questioning why would AA now give up anything for a front of the rotation starter when he could have just signed one in the offseason. The answer is simple, it wasn't a great need in the offseason when they had Stroman, now that he's gone they need to replace his production because Sanchez can't fill the void. Whether or not he was durable for the entire season no one can answer, but that's what the trade deadline can be used for. A rental.
  8. I don't know why you have a hard time believing there would be a difference in both the rotation & bullpen with Stroman here. How does the bullpen become even worse with Sanchez in it? He's built for the pen, throwing 97 with movement for an inning is all that's needed from him just as it worked for over 2 months last season. He's reliable and consistent there. Replacing a #5/6 with a #1/2 is also the biggest improvement a team can make to their rotation, so yes Stroman in there over Sanchez could very well be the difference maker. Stroman's numbers were just as good throughout his minors career that he transferred over to the majors when he started. He's proven he can get big leaguers out using 6 pitches, there's little reason to believe he can't continue that success especially with Martin calling.
  9. To be fair, the rotation would look much different if Sanchez was swapped for Stroman. I think that's why AA never really pulled the trigger on a FA starter as we had an ace in the making and wasn't banking on having to fill 2 rotation spots to start the season. If a trade for an ace happens, it's not because it was needed in the offseason but because our #1 went down in ST for the year and would need to be replaced in order to compete. There is a big difference. Regardless he did jack s*** about the bullpen except added Estrada which I think was viewed as a depth piece for the rotation. Losing Janssen hurt this team but they presumed Sanchez would be his replacement. Stroman going down really created a ripple effect that was too late to fix.
  10. I logged in just to say why the hell was Thole batting in a crucial at bat late in the game?
  11. If you blow the lead in the 7th inning, is that a blown save? I know holds are stats so I was just wondering.
  12. The Baltimore game sort of looks like a Wed night, Intercounty baseball game on Rogers cable 10.
  13. I brought up Pabelbon but I named several other internal options and ideas of what could be done. I was trying to find out what realistic scenarios will play out. Also, it hasn't been one game, c'mon. They have 5 saves and 4 blown... I'd like to see how many holds they've given up, but not sure if a site tracks that by team. They have simply not been good in many high leverage situations and like you said internally it can be fixed... but when?
  14. Thanks for the reminder. Really a great video.
  15. Well likely not straight up, it was just hypothetical trade that I'm assuming Phillies are asking for in return. In desperate times and job security on the line maybe AA does something like that. Not saying I would.
  16. That's bonkers.
  17. You can't blame him for the money he got.. but you can blame him for not really fulfilling his end of the contract, which was to be playing baseball and taking care of himself. If he was a Blue Jay imagine the outrage. It would make Ricky Romero's wasted $ look like a little league contract.
