  1. I was surprised to learn the Jays have only been intentionally walked 1 time this year.. I guess it makes sense that they are rarely ever leading a tight game late in a ball game to warrant it.
  2. JoeyBats has started off June with a bang. Seems like he's hit a turning point since getting his shoulder injection...
  3. Lay off on the worst defense you've ever seen nonsense. You've only seen him play 1 game at his natural position. The guy was moved from being a AAA first basemen to the opposite corner of the field as a major league left fielder, literally overnight as a desperation move. Will it his bat wear off? Yes it will regress. Will he be a great depth piece to have around for any DL stints of Edwin/Smoak in the future? Absolutely. Cut the guy some slack, he's playing over his head but as a replacement player he's kicking some serious ass. It doesn't you mean people can't like what they are seeing.

  5. Correct, most of the time, but if a player says look I just want to play ball. Show me the best offer you've received and lets make a deal. If he refuses because he wants to make more money for himself, his client is potentially losing millions in lost wages because of his ignorance & greed. Is that not lawsuit worthy?
  6. Do any players ever sue their past agent for not getting them a deal? Boras' scumbag level is at a remarkable height.
  7. Tercet should take over Wilner's job to try pleasing the masses. Popcorn radio.
  8. Probably the dumbest concept ever. Especially the flag pole?... Footnote Rasmus has been benched like 5 of the last 6 games.

  10. Howarth is going to have to pray a little harder to help Reyes on defense.
  11. I never said Mac was better defensively than Goins.... but McDonald didn't strikeout much so he was a very good late inning option in tight games who can move runners around and provide a defensive upgrade in almost any position. If Goins can lower that K% by putting the ball in play more he might be able to make a career out of being a bench player like him. I'm pretty sure he'd enjoy that more than living in the minors.
  12. Pillar, Navarro, Valencia, Goins is not a terrible bench, in fact Goins is pretty much doing as expected at 0 war and is a good late inning defensive substitute. There is also Smoak who should be our starting 1B, Bautista's injury hasn't helped things. The problem is this season was headed this direction from game 1 when half the roster were experiments and several starters are fragile (Reyes, Saunders, arguably Bautista). The outcome was inevitable. I feel our bench players were good enough options for us it's just they haven't got to be used as bench roles. Pillar (our 4th outfielder) has been starting since the get go and Goins has played in more games than Travis.
  13. We definitely should've had bench full of above replacement level players to start the season.
  14. What did you expect from a pro ball player taking batting practice?
  15. If he masters bunting he might turn into Ryan Johnny Mac Goins.
  16. First day he was called up someone here said 'this portabello guy'.. it stuck. and now we have this: http://i.imgur.com/0ecOIZD.jpg
  17. You can't blame Gibby, you can't blame Martin... You blame variance and say s*** happens, end of story.
  18. My spidey sense tells me he's 54. Call him sir.
  19. Today's Game RA Dickey: 3.00 xFIP Jordan Zimmerman: 4.41 xFIP
  20. So they pitch to him... he grounds out and EE is up with 2 outs. I'd rather EE up with 1 out than 2 and pitching around batters is still not guaranteed regardless.
  21. If EE came through it would likely be in the form of a sac fly (or homer), if he went up with 2 outs he loses that value so the best bat for Dickey would be Martin who has a .364 OBP in the event EE got out. Who gives a s***, he put up 2 great hitters for the team's worst in an attempt to the tie game. Martin didn't come through regardless of the situation.
  22. The only mistake this team has made today is pitch to Harper with a base open. RA can't pitch around the plate with a ball he can't control like Zimmermann did to EE, he just needed to IBB him.
