Its not the obscure quotes that are the issue, it is his use of them. He brings up irrelevant facts to promote his narrative: that the jays and their management make no mistakes. If a guy strikes out 10 times in a row he will promote how many pitches they faced and how many hard foul balls they hit... and so on and so on, and it gets really f***ing boring.
Ive been forced to listen to the radio broadcasts due to work schedule this spring and I can say that Wilner is slowly driving me nuts. Ive had to shut it off a few times just because of him. His play by play is average or below average and is not worth keeping him around.
