    I think we will see more action on trades than free agent signings. We have always had difficulty with free agent signings due to the stigma associated with playing in Canada. Despite the success the last two seasons I dont see that changing, especially since 2 of our marquee players are free agents themselves. I think we will see 1 big FA signing (probably EE or JB) and maybe one or two low level signings to fill gaps. The rest will be trades.

    I dunno about that... He just came off an injury where he missed most of the season, despite playing well at the end of the season there were serious questions about how he would hold up this year. His arm didnt fall off this year but he wasnt what we really hoped for either. 2015-2016 are a wash.

    I appreciate him not convincing Gibby he needed more playing time down the stretch.

    This organization needs to revamp its replay crew. I dont know how much of that falls on Gibby, but whoever is responsible for our track record needs to move over and let someone else handle it. I dont really buy the conspiracy theory that the league is against the Jays. It is often patently obvious that the play should be or shouldnt be challenged and we seem to do the opposite. I will say that Gibby's decision last year to challenge Kawasaki's out at first to score a run still stands as the most clever (and arguably the only clever) thing he has ever done.

    Look at current players on the market that are or have been members of the Cleveland org. or heavily scouted by them... that is who we are getting

    I'm sure this has its own thread but I cant see resigning Dickie. If he doesnt retire I will be surprised. The big argument in the past for keeping him is that he eats a lot of innings. Well this year with 169 innings, he ranks last on the team. And now we have Liriano. I really hope the Budget is well in excess of 140 mil. Less than that and things will have to get really creative.

    A good at bat is one where you foul off strike three more than a couple times, protecting the plate until you get a good pitch to hit or the pitcher misses. A good at bat is also one where you recognize a mistake and crush it.

    Lets not get the panties in a bunch here. We have faced pretty solid pitching so far. A CY young candidate, two better than average closers and a not-so-good pitcher that happened to mix his pitches really well. This is hardly over.
