Its hard to blame a lot of the fails on AA.
Overall, you have to remember this is the least attractive division for pitchers in MLB... and toronto is the least attractive city. Offensively, we have one of the best in team history. Defensively the worst. Fielding has been terrible, but much of that is due to injury and some is due to Gibbons. SP has been bad, RP has been average but misused. We should have had a better outfield, but we were counting on Saunders to replace Melky and at the time everyone thought that was genius. now, im thinking we would all love melky. Pompey was really the only bad call, but Pillar has played better than Pompeys best projections.
As for pitching, there were plenty of marque names this winter, but big contracts. It would have been great to get Scherzer but at that cost? and would he even want to play here? The one move he did make is working out (estrada).
in all, it seems kinda early in the season to call it.... i want to see what happens after july when teams start talking trade. If we are still in it by then.
